It is Thursday already!

Well I am officially CPR certified for like the millionth time. I guess that is what everyone wants from a nurse to know if you go down in front of her that she could help you.

We are getting ready to head to Target to get a few items. We also are going to go get a wedding gift for Sean and Leslie.

The boys have been driving their daddy crazy this week. I think they have been fighting more this week.

Luke has started to really like Sesame Street. He really likes Melmo as he calls Elmo. He discovered yesterday that he has some Melmo toys and they have suddenly become his favorite. I have been missing Elmo a little so it is nice to see him around again. It is also nice to see him enjoying something so much. I ordered tickets for Sesame Street Live that is coming to Mobile a few weeks ago and now I think I made the right choice.

Joey has to clean his room. He lost his right to watch tv yesterday and was banished to his room. He proceeded to make a bigger mess in there and didn't seem to mind that he still isn't allowed to watch tv. The next step is no costumes. I am thinking that should work.

We will be leaving first thing Saturday morning for the trip to Ohio.

My day off

My day off before working the next 4 days started out by swinging by the Krispy Kreme after I got off work to get 2 very special boys donuts. After the boys ate their donuts, we headed off to Gulf Breeze to Publix. Yes, we have become addicted to Publix. Then after I helped put the groceries away then I slept a little while. A very little while, but it counts none the less.
Joey said "Mom look at his face!" I said "What is wrong with that face, it looks perfect to me?" Joeys said "but Mom it is a mess!"

Luke loves to play Peek-a-Boo and he says it when he moves his hands.

When I got up Kev and Joey did a sort of scavenger hunt with a GPS. Kev is teaching Joey to use a GPS, so he hid a sucker over at the park and then put wave marks in to help Joey find it. Apparently, it took Joey no time at all. I don't even know how to turn on a GPS let alone how to find anything using it.
Then all of us went over to the park for a little while. I ran some with Joey. We played and had fun.
When we came home Joey decided to play hide and seek with Kev. Joey had to go into the spare bedroom to count while Kev hid. Even though the door was closed, Joey still covered his eye and stood at the door counting.
Joey very serious about Hide and Seek.

Must go prepare some dinner. I am fixing ravioli for Luke, he loves it. I hate to think how much he will eat tonight.
I almost forgot. The shoulder is doing much better. Now I just have muscle soreness. It is amazing how much better it is.

The calm before the storm!!!

The last few days have been the calm before the storm. I had to get Tuesday off so I could go see the Orthopedic doctor. In getting that day off, I had to agree to work Saturday. I work Friday, Saturday, off Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday I do CPR in the afternoon, and Thursday. Saturday we leave for Ohio. So I will be useless this next week. But I have enjoyed some nice quiet time with my boys the last few days. Today I took the boys to a Mom's Club event, then this afternoon we headed to the beach and then this evening I did a Mom's night out event.
Over the last few weeks Luke went from hating to read to loving to read. He is constantly stopping us to read him a book. This morning I had the pleasure of reading him like 3 books. If you choose not to read to him he cries and throws a terrible fit.
My mom is on vacation and sent the boys a post card. Both post cards had buffalo on them. I handed Luke his post card and he said "Ah, buff!" and pointed to the buffalo. I didn't even know he knew what a buffalo was. This evening he showed Kev the post card and told him "buff lo!" He scares me at how smart he is.
Of course, Joey is smart also. He is looking forward to school this fall. He tells me that all the kids will love him and will ask him to help them learn about animals. He says his dad taught him all about animals. Today at the beach, he found a living sand dollar and he brought it to me and told we could hold it, but it would have to go back in the water. Luke wanted to eat it.
I thought I should also tell you all that Kev and Joey camped out in the living room the other night. Joey stayed up super late and had a ball. Kev slept in the tent until 1am and then he swears that he went back to the tent at 2am. He had a great time also, now he wants to figure out a place to take him outside this fall.

Ignore me in these pictures. I had just gotten out of the shower and had barely combed my hair, when I was forced to read. Luke is in charge of turning the pages.

Camping out

Earlier this week Kev and Joey were going to camp out in the living room, but Joey didn't take a nap that day and he was grumpy. Tonight is the night. They are ready. We will see how this works tonight. Kev claims he wants to take him camping, but every time I suggest it he comes up with a reason why he can't. I bet Joey makes it all night in the tent, but Kev doesn't.

Shot Please!!!

So I met Dr. De Jong today. He is an orthopedic surgeon. The first thing he discussed was that he wants to get me feeling a lot better. I got my third cortisone injection. He gave it to me in a completely different spot and I knew right away that he hit the right spot. It hurt instantly and by the time I got to my car my shoulder felt better than it has in months thanks to the numbing stuff. Then we also discussed my options that I am to think about. He feels that since I am so young and have had such a problem for so long that I was going to have problems with this shoulder no matter what. He feels that I have a bone spur that is causing me much problems. He said it has probably been there for awhile and with the trauma has really started to cause me pain. He talked like no matter what at some point this shoulder was going to cause pain for me. He said he feels if I choose to not have surgery that I am looking at this bone spur rubbing over the rotator cuff and eventually causing a complete tear of the rotator cuff. So I am to be thinking about this surgery and then on August 19th we will discuss more of it. For some reason, he said he'd be getting good information by injecting the area. He said in 95% of the cases if he injects it and then does surgery and can fix the problem completely. I am praying that I can be in the 95%. He said that we would be in no rush for surgery, but he did feel that was my best option. So I have thought about it and well, I want to do the surgery.

YIPEE!!!

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow at 10am with Dr. De Jong the orthopedic surgeon. YAY!!! I can't wait!!!

I have a reading man

Luke has not been a reading man. In fact, when we have tried to read to him he has squirmed and moved all around and fought to get away from you. That is until recently. Now he likes to read and once you start to read then you must read the same book over and over again. This morning we read Mama Mama and Papa Papa. So he has been walking around the house saying "Papa Papa."

Watermelon

So why on Earth would we think we need to grow Watermelon??? First because it is fun to watch stuff grow. Secondly because a whole watermelon is over $5 at the store and 6 watermelon plants were less than $5 at Home Depot.
They are growing

This one is getting close to eat!!!
The final reason to plant watermelon is that these boys are going through it as fast as I buy it. Maybe when the watermelon are finally ripe then I won't go in the poor house buying watermelon. Because I bought a watermelon today at Publix and it is gone already.
Joey enjoying watermelon.

Both boys enjoying watermelon.
Finally when there is no watermelon to eat then one must settle for a popsicle. As you can see, he has a rough life. He gets to lounge on the couch with a pillow behind his head, his favorite blanket in hand and a popsicle in the other.

Sunday is busy

Today is busy!!! Kev is putting up our new garage door opener since the old one died the other day. We didn't want to head to Ohio without our garage locked. He seems to think it is much easier this time around with the installation process.
I took Joey and Luke with me to Publix for some grocery shopping. I have been making Kev go so he can push the cart, but since he was busy with the garage door opener I had to suck it up. Now my shoulder is aching like there is no tomorrow. I am trying to get the floors clean now. I figure if my shoulder is going to be hurting a bunch I might as well do all the things that make it hurt more.
Tonight Joey and Kev are going to put a tent up in the living room and go camping in the living room. It is very hot outside and Joey has been wanting to go camping.
Soon we will have watermelon that we grew. I hope they taste good. Even if they don't Joey will eat them and swear they are the best he has ever had.

Spoiled boys

If you didn't already know that my boys are spoiled then the fact that I just bought them a snow cone maker should pretty much seal the deal. I took them to visit with Mrs. Kristie and she had a snow cone maker and made the boys snow cones at out our visit. Joey said that it was wicked cool. I thought about it and we still had a $50 gift card from Walmart from the swing set ordeal. I had thought we should use it for the boys and I figured that a snow cone maker wasn't something I'd want to waste my money on. So after our evening walks the boys have been having a snow cone as a evening snack.

Just wondering

I am just a little upset. I have been hearing at work from other people that have had injuries that I am not suppose to be taking patients. I have been on light duty on and off since December 21. During this time I have only missed one day of work and have always taken a full load of patients. I have not made a big deal out of anything except for floating. When I float the other people aren't so accepting. They don't want to do my lifting and are just mean. I spoke with Janna Armentrout, the Associate Health Coordinator and she said she fixed it so if I were taking patients I wouldn't float. I did float last Friday. I was suppose to float on Monday and refused. Then I spoke with my boss who acted very shocked. Then in the coordinator's meeting she told all the coordinators that that I wasn't suppose to float. She told me she was going to get it clarified and then let me know, but I haven't heard one word from her.
Then last Wednesday is when I went to see Dr. Jones. He decided that I need to go to a surgeon and need to get it cleaned out so I can heal. He called Janna before I left the office. Today is over a week later and I haven't heard one word. I tried to get in touch with her 3 times yesterday and was unable. I called today and she still wasn't available. I left a message for her to call me back. I am getting really irritated with the whole thing.

Why is it so hot???

So it has been either so hot that the boys don't want to play outside or we have had thunderstorms and they can't play outside. On Monday afternoon we headed to the TT Wentworth Museum so that they could play in the cool air conditioning. This was the first time that Kev had ever been there and he was super impressed with it being free and all the neat things there.

Joey bringing his Daddy some coffee.Luke won't shoot you, but he will hit you with a rolling pin.

Luke lost his egg

Joey needs 3 guns to protect himself from the enemy. Luke is still looking for his egg.

Luke is going to start mopping at home.
This evening we headed down to Palafox Pier for the concert and so the boys could play in the water. This evening the special guest was Elmo. Now Luke would have nothing to do with Mickey or Minnie Mouse, but he gave Elmo 5 a few times. We couldn't get any pictures with Luke and Elmo because he was very quick around him.

Big brothers

Today while I slept from work last night, the boys got a long really well. Kev said that both the boys played outside. He said that he needed to get some work done in the house and the only way it was going to happen was if he put them out to play. So he constantly checked on them and cleaned things up. Well he watched Joey help Luke out of a lot of sticky situations. At one point he looked out and didn't see Luke so he looked out the window by Joey's window and noticed that Luke was stuck. Well here comes Joey "Daddy, Luke is stuck and he is crying and he needs your help." Luke had climbed on the reel for the garden hose and got his leg stuck. Kev went out and got him and brought him in and changed his diaper. Right as he was finishing up, here comes Joey with 2 cups of applesauce and 2 spoons. He told Kev that him and Luke were going to have a snack. They sat at the table eating their applesauce and Joey explained "Luke, I remember when I was a little kid I got stuck there and I cried. It is OK. You just got to learn what you can do."
That is what I want for my boys more than anything.

Growing Watermelon

Growing watermelon is very interesting work. You see they start out as small plants and they get very long and they bloom a ton and you think that you have no watermelon. Then one day the man of the house threatens to tear down the plants because they have covered the walk way. So the woman of the house goes out and finds watermelon. Then she watches the few watermelon and then goes digging and finds more. The neighbors may love us. We might be able to share a lot with the neighbors. I counted 11 today. We might have to bring some watermelon to Ohio. If they hurry up and grow which I can see them get bigger everyday.

This is the watermelon patch
This is the biggest watermelon we have growing.

The gardener and his watermelon.
Today we went to Publix. I am really enjoying Publix and don't mind driving to Gulf Breeze once a week to get groceries. I really like the meat selection and the organic selection. We do try to get organic when we can. I guess that is why we have taken up gardening and raising watermelon. Today I got some ice cream cake which Luke loves. I ask Luke if the cake was good and he shook his head yes. Then I said "Yeah, I like it too!" He shook his head no and said "No!No!No!" Apparently, I am not allowed to like ice cream cake.
Don't touch my cake!!! If you want some get your Mommy to get you some.
We had our evening walk after dinner tonight. It was nice. We were able to get out after it rained and the weather was delightful. After our evening walk Luke went straight to bed. He loves a good walk. He did have his bath after dinner, but before our walk.

Did someone say birthday cake????

Joey got frosting on his chest, he ask me if I'd lick it off. Yes me and Kev laughed at him.

Joey having his pretend birthday.

He was so happy it was my birthday and there was cake.

This is my normal smiley Luke David, but rarely do we get a picture of him.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Today I turned 34, I believe I have learned a lot over those years. I was ask what I wanted to do for my birthday and I said "I want to go to the Emerald Coast Science Museum!" So we headed there today and had an amazing time. After the museum we went to AJ's to eat some lunch. The boys and I had fish (yummy) and daddy had a hamburger. It was a great visit.
My boys and my presents. Joey insisted on getting me a pancake puff pan and Luke got me Operation so I could have a new shoulder.

Luke was so upset because he wanted that ball.
