Wonder Mutt and our New Bedroom

Kev painted a lot in our room.  I am really not sure how he got everything done that he did with company, the boys, Wonder Mutt's surgery, and me driving him crazy.  I think it is great.

Wonder Mutt had a growth removed from his chest on Monday.  Last spring we noticed a black area on his chest it wasn't raised it was just black.  Then about 3 months ago it started really growing.  It was removed Monday and now he has a penrose drain in place.  He seems to be doing very well today.

Visitors and fun at the park.

Karen and GB got here Friday afternoon.  The boys seemed to have a good visit with them.   I have hardly any pictures, because Karen and GB always tell me they look terrible.

GB reading to Luke
Then on Monday, Dad and Nancy got here.  They only stayed over night.  I felt really bad.  Kev decided to start painting our room on Sunday.  He had promised me that he would have it all painted before my surgery.  He wanted me to have a nice place to retreat to when I don't feel like being around anyone.
We took Dad and Nancy to McGuire's for dinner.  We got Dad with the bathroom thing.
Notice the arrow

Yeah like his son, he also went in the women's restroom. Only I have a picture of him coming out.
Grandpa Flesher got the boys scooters for Christmas.  Luke is loving his, he drags it all over the park.

Apparently this is how the scooter works.
Or you can stand on it!
but Mostly Luke just drags it like this!!!  It is important to wear a helmet.
Joey has taken an interest in climbing this tree across from our house.

All the kids in the neighborhood love this tree.
He was super excited that he can finally climb it without help.
He is so enjoying his new bike.  He says his arms get tired.

Merry Christmas

Santa has been to our house and well he did well for the boys.  They got more stuff than they should have.  Santa Claus did play a joke on Joey and wrapped his Incredible Hulk stuff in a microwave box.  Then when the boys opened their TV/DVD Joey was sure that Santa was playing another Joey on him.  Luke seems to like Joey's bike better than his.  Like likes a ball that Grandpa Turner sent him the best.
So we took the boys over to the park to test their bikes out.  Luke liked his until Joey came over with his.  We also realized that he hadn't had breakfast and so he did a lot of crying until we could get some food in his tummy.  He said he didn't want to eat, but when I gave him little tiny bites of food he ate them and ask for more.  It wasn't long and life was much better.
The boys aren't done.  Karen and GB will be here tomorrow or Saturday and then my Dad and Nancy will be here Saturday or Sunday.
Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!
Luke enjoying his bike
He seems to love it
He just saw Joey's bike again.
This is what happens when you are 2 and your big brother is almost 5, you want everything they get including a bike you can't ride.
This will probably end up being the best present he got.
He just wanted to watch some Sesame Street.
The Jedi Men
Jedi robes do not include lightsabers.
Feeling better and he won't go anyplace without some juice.
You are making him angry!!!
Please stop making him angry!!!!
He is almost 100% Hulk
You have done it!!!  The Incredible Hulk

He got a little food and he felt better about his bike.

An Amazing Job

Joey loves to sing.  So he wanted to sing in the children's choir again this year.  The first night of practice he volunteered to bring in the gifts (communion).  I don't think he knew what he was volunteering for, but other little kids were doing it.  Last year his singing was difficult, we never knew if he'd stay up there or if he'd talk the whole time.  So when I came home and told Kev he volunteered for this, he just about died.
This year was a completely different thing.  He was super serious and sang all the songs.  His favorite is Joy to the World.  He has enjoyed singing a lot.  He even ask if he could go to singing lessons everyday.
Today was no different.  He was super serious.  He got to bring in the wine.  He did an amazing job.  I was super proud of him, Kev was super proud of him.  When we left Father Jack said "Now you just did a very fine job helping today."  Joey walked out and you could just see the pride in his walk.
Then I have included a few pictures of the boys with their Christmas Eve gifts.  We gave them these bath kits with pretend shavers.  They seem to love them.

Doesn't he look so grown up???
Singing away
They have arrived.
This is what Luke did the entire time
This is the group that will take in the gifts
Getting ready
This is my little guy.
If you look really careful, you will see a little boy with a red shirt right in front of Father Jack, that is Joey doing his job.
Shaving cream is wonderful
Luke is a shaving man
I don't know, it must be a brother thing.

Here is the red velvet cake that me and Joey worked on today.  Joey says it is to pretty to eat.

Bribery

This year the boys were allowed to pick out a gift for each other.  Joey picked out an Elmo bath toy and Luke picked out a Spiderman costume.  This morning when Joey got up he screamed it is Christmas Eve, I want a present.  I bribed them, I told them if they could get their room and the playroom picked up I would let them open each other's gifts this morning.  Joey was a cleaning machine.  So around 10am the rooms were picked up enough that they could open the presents that they had picked out for each other.  They each were super happy with what they got.   So Joey has run around here dressed as Spiderman and Elmo hasn't left Luke's side.  The playroom has stayed clean, their room has stayed clean.

Yesterday we took some fudge that I made to the neighbors.  Joey got to knock on the door and hand the neighbors the fudge.  He loved doing it.  He thinks we should make hot fudge all the time.  It was just fudge, but Joey kept saying it was hot fudge.   He did a wonderful job.

Pictures

I realized tonight when I was getting the pictures of our Christmas adventure from tonight, that I didn't post any pictures from Bellingrath Gardens the other day.
We and My boys at the lights
Joey on a lion with tons of Christmas lights.
Joey and a Gingerbread
The men and lots of lights.
These were the prettiest lights.

The boys with their lighted necklaces.
Tonight we went to Winterfest in Pensacola for a Trolley ride through downtown Pensacola and sing along with Santa.  Luke wouldn't sit on Santa's lap tonight, but he was totally enjoying himself.  Joey has compared the Santa's and he now knows that he just met an Elf at 4 year old school, but tonight was the real Santa.  This guy didn't have a fake beard like at 4 year old school.  Yes, he has been taking notes about Santa.  He didn't tell him what he wants for Christmas, because he is sure the Elf told him.  Mrs. Santa Claus wasn't there, but Joey doesn't really like her since she talks bad about him and Luke.
After we got home I ask Luke if he saw Santa tonight and he told me "No!"  I ask him if he saw Rudolph and he said "Maybe!"
We got to sit right next to Santa Claus
Joey and the real Santa Claus

Hanging with Daddy and Rudolph
Talking with Santa, teaching him how it is.
Luke was a little impressed with Rudolph, but he didn't want to touch him.
