10 reasons that my 2 year old is feeling better

10.)  He woke up and got out of bed and started jumping in Joey's bed.  Yeah, Joey was asleep.
9.)  He ate a little breakfast and threw what he couldn't eat at the dogs while laughing all the time.
8.)  Instead of laying on the couch he has been jumping on the couch.
7.)  When he had a few minutes that he didn't feel well.  I put him in the bath, it seems to feel really great to him.  I thought I'd wash his stinky blanket and while I ran out to throw it in the washer, he pulled a clean dry towel in the bath with him.  Yeah, he thought this was very funny.
6.)  Throwing balls at Momma instead of saying very pathetically "Momma, please ball."
5.)  Running all over the house uncontrollable.
4.)  Throwing a ton of toys in the kitchen, just to do it.
3.)  Insisting on getting dressed instead of wearing pajamas.  "Momma, I want Mickey shirt!"
2.)  Not wanting to cuddle.  "Momma, not now! Me play!"
and finally the
#1 reason my 2 year old is feeling better
The screaming "Shoes on!  Outside to play!"

A sight I don't like to see

Luke wanted to sleep in my bed.  He got in there and got covered up and in no time was sound asleep.
This was this morning after his bath.  He didn't want to get in the bath, but once he got in he didn't want to get out.
He wanted his "Branny Blanket"  When he is sick he thinks he needs to use his quilt Granny made him.
This was what he looked like when we were ready to take Joey to school.  I hated to wake him up, but we had to.

For the last week Luke has been under the weather.  He has had fevers, runny nose and diarrhea.  He has progressively gotten worse.  Yesterday, I took him to the doctor to find out that he has a bug and they aren't sure when he will feel better.  I kind of suspected this, but I felt I had to do something since he wasn't doing any better.

Mardi Gras is awesome!!!

Joey and I trying to get some beads.

Joey enjoying the parade (Yeah, he is dressed as Indiana Jones)
Luke is an expert at this.
Luke and Kev
This is still one of my favorite pictures (this was Luke's first Mardi Gras) He was like 8 weeks old.  A lot of people thought we were awful parents because we had him there, but he wasn't cold at all.

The boys at the end of the parade, Joey was cold.
We left the parade and it wasn't anytime at all Joey had to pee.  Of course, we were in traffic.  We had to pull over at Joey's school on the way to dinner so he could pee.  Kev captured the moment.  He will probably go to school and tell everyone that he peed behind his school.  We figured, no one would care at St. Paul's.
Caught in the act.

E is for Elmo

In the car on the way to school Joey and I talk about the letter of the week.  We try to think of as many words that start with the letter as we can.  Today we were discussing the letter T.  I said "Tiger" he said "TV", I said "Tent" he said "Turtle".  When a little voice from the back said "E E E E is for Elmo!"  That little voice was Luke, I am sure he heard it on Sesame Street, but it does make him sound like a genius.
Took Joey back to the doctor for a recheck on his ears.  The left one is still just a little red, but not bad enough to treat.  Luke has not been feeling well, so she checked his ears out, they look fine.
Luke also said today, "Joe Joe is bad.  He hit me hard!"  "Momma please get banana!"  "Me want tea juice!"

My Special Valentine

Joey made me this special heart pin for Valentine's Day at school.  When he gave it to me, he said that he made me a nursing pin to wear.  I have worn it to work the last two nights and the have gotten many compliments.

Don't Fall Down

Luke learned a new phrase today "Don't fall down!"  I set him on the back of the car while I got my keys, I might have said "Luke, don't fall down!"  I don't remember saying this, but I recall him saying "Momma, I don't fall down!"  He has talked about this a lot today.

This evening at Taekwondo, Joey learned how to take a person down very easily.  He was proud to learn this move.  In the car, he talked about it and decided that he would do it to his dad.

We we got home Joey said "Daddy, I bet I can put you on the ground!"  Luke said "Daddy, don't fall down!"  Joey did his moves on Kev and Kev ended up on the ground.

Ears

We have been dealing with ears all weekend long.  Thursday when I picked Joey up from school, he acted like he didn't feel well.  So we took a nap, when he woke up he was crying and said his ear hurt.  I called and got him into the doctor on Friday.  Sure enough the ear that was infected a few weeks ago, is full of puss now.  She changed his allergy medicine, put him on a different antibiotic and gave him ear drops for pain.  Saturday and Sunday he has taken tylenol and ear drops every 4 hours.  He sure has felt bad.  He went to school today for Donuts with Daddy.  His Daddy went also.  Hopefully today is a better day.
