I heard all this loud pounding from the playroom. I headed in there to find a little boy working really hard fixing stuff. What you can't tell from these pictures is that he is wearing a t-shirt and just underwear. This busy builder has been busy building and using the potty, he is awesome.

Rain!!!
Today it is raining, so instead of walking to school I had to drive Joey the 2 blocks to school. This messed Joey completely up. He said "I don't want to drive, I am a walker!" This messed him completely up. He wanted to cry, but I told him he could do it.
Yesterday he had Art which he loved. He has been to the library, but wasn't allowed to check out a book. He has also been to the science lab. He seems to be learning and enjoying so much.
Some things that Sherwood Elementary has that I am impressed with a science lab. Each week they go to the science lab to learn different things in science. The library that they go to almost daily. A computer lab that he will go to a few times a week. Sherwood also has a running club. The running club also signs up to run in many 5K runs in Pensacola.

New Shoes.
I took a very excited Luke David to buy some new shoes today. He says these are the prettiest shoes he has ever seen in his life. He wanted me to take a picture of him in them. I tried several times and the result was the same every single time, a blurred mess. He couldn't hold still because he was so excited about them. So finally I sat him down and just took a picture of these beautiful shoes.
He also went to Kohl's in underwear and had no accidents while we were gone. When we got home I told him the exciting news and he started jumping up and down and yelling "Hooray!" When all of the sudden he was jumping in a puddle of pee. He was so shocked. I told him his trip was still a win and we would just blame it on excitement.
Luke's World
Luke's world is full of fun and laughter. He also keeps me laughing lots. He can get the most serious look on his face and tell you the funniest things ever.
Karen and GB sent to boy's some money. They wanted Joey to be able to pick some clothes out for school. Well Luke needed shoes really bad. His tennis shoes he has been wearing are size 8 and when I sized him today he is in a size 9 with a little room to grow. He picked out these shoes with a soccer ball, a basketball, and football. He said "These are the prettiest shoes I have ever seen!"
I was putting him down for a nap and said to him that he wanted to take a nap so that he could play with Joey when he gets home. Luke said "I don't like to play with Joey, he is too loud for me!" Anyone that knows my two sons, knows that Luke is the louder kid.
He absolutely loves cheese puffs, blueberry pancakes, bacon, ice tea, potato chips, and popsicles. No day is complete without most of the foods on this list. The other day we were out of bacon and he said "I need bacon! I can't get enough bacon! Please go buy bacon today at Walmart." When we go to the grocery store he always asks me to buy him two things the beloved cheese puffs and meat. Yeah he loves meat.
He got time out yesterday for throwing a book. During his time he kept yelling "I will be nice!" Then after his time out he told me exactly what he did to get it time and said he was sorry. So about 10 minutes later he comes holding the book that he threw and said "Mommy, I sorry I threw this book. I was just joking!"
Things we learned on the first day of school
Things Joey learned
1.) Eating breakfast is very important. He said he was about to starve by lunch time. He ate a bowl of cereal yesterday and this morning a waffle and three pieces of bacon and orange juice.
2.) Recess is amazing.
3.) That some kids don't listen.
4.) That he really enjoys it.
Things I learned
1.) I have to really encourage Joey to eat more for breakfast. A bowl of cereal isn't going to cut it right now.
2.) If I didn't walk him back there, he'd forget what he was doing and might forget to go to school. He is easily distracted by feathers, sticks, rocks.
3.) The people driving cars are fools and neither one of the boys will ever be old enough to walk back there alone.
4.) Even though I was able to get myself to my classroom without help in kindergarten I think it is to much to ask these little kids. The difference is I went to a place with just kindergartners and Joey's classroom is in the back of the school.
5.) I have to be super organized.

The day is over
We all survived Joey's first day of school. Till about 11:30, Luke pouted because his Joe Joe was at school. He went into the playroom and sat on the bean bag chair. He never gets to sit there when Joey is home. Then he played with some imaginary guys (he informed me that I don't know them) and with them he went to Walmart, Daddy's school, but he told me that he'd be back to get Joe Joe.
So we walked up to Sherwood to get Joey. The walkers are dismissed first at 1:50. Luke and I were right there waiting. We weren't sure where to wait, but we found Joey. He told us that he had such a good time. He loves his teacher. He told us his favorite part of the day was recess. He said "There were no 2 year olds or 3 year olds outside only kindergartners." When he got home he showed me the work he did and told me the part he did wrong. He apparently told his teacher that he sort of messed it up a little and she told him that it was fine for the first day. He also colored a picture of a bear, it had a something on it about brown. Joey said that some kids messed it up, because you were suppose to color the bear brown and he did what he was suppose to. He said he was tired, but I couldn't get him to lay down for anything.
We headed to tae kwon do tonight. He is doing an amazing job with his new yellow belt form. Mrs. Poff is super proud of him.
The big day is here
Today is Joey's big day at school. He started kindergarten. I can't believe it. Luke is so sad. He almost cried at Joey's school. He kept saying "I want to go with Joe Joe! I don't want to be 2, I want to be 5!" Since we have been home, I haven't been able to get him to do anything. He is just sitting quietly on the couch. This boy is never ever quiet. This is going to be a long day today for him. I hope I can get him to take a nap early so when we pick Joey up he can just spend time with him.
Happy Luke eating his breakfast.
The two men ready for their 1st day of school. Notice Joey has tie shoes on.
Here the big boy is.

Happy 450th Pensacola!!!
Last night was the street party to celebrate 450 years of Pensacola. This is the final event to celebrate the 450th. I am sort of sad about that. We have got to see and do so much for it. Well the celebration started about 5pm. We got down there a little past 5pm. We walked around and signed the World's Largest Birthday card. Joey signed his name backwards, he hasn't done that in a long time. He also was a great big brother and signed Luke's name.
The worst part was the meal. They got local chef's that are from the best restaurants in Pensacola to fix Spanish food. I have decided that the Spanish left Spain in search of something to eat. The boys were right on they got hotdogs and chips.
The Washington High school drum line came and Joey wants a drum set for Christmas now. The Florida A&M band came and they are amazing.
We made it to see one of the most awesome firework displays ever. Everyone had a wonderful time. Both boys had no problems getting to sleep. When I carried Joey into his room he looked up at me and said "That was a perfect birthday celebration for the Earth!" I corrected him and in a soft whisper he said "I meant Pensacola!"
Sir Joey
This might be the orneriest knight ever

I hope I can sign an even bigger card in 50 years.

Exciting day
This morning we took the boat out. I am happy to report I caught many catfish, all very small. Luke caught his very first fish, it was a very small catfish. I helped him hook it and then he wouldn't get close to the fishing rod, I reeled it in. Joey caught his first fish completely unassisted, it was a small catfish. Kevin caught nothing.
Then this afternoon we went to Tae Kwon Do to find out the results of his testing on Monday. I am happy to report that Joey is a
Yellow Belt.

Funnies from my boys.
Luke has been talking about "sexy". It started with him telling me I was sexy, to Tinker Bell being sexy, and finally that I need to take a shower so I would be sexy.
Tonight the boys were in bed and making a lot of noise. So Kev knocked on the door hoping to quiet them down, but instead they said "What was that?" Then Joey in a very innocent voice said "Who is it?" I couldn't help but laugh and Kevin yelled at me for laughing.
Luke dropped a popsicle outside today. He came in the house and said "Mommy, I cannot eat this. It is nasty!"
At lunch Luke said the blessing "God is good, God is good, God is good. A man! Who is the man?"
Joey ask Kevin today "When we have another kid, will you make him a bed too?"
I do spend a lot of time laughing at them. They are the funniest people I know.

Caterpillarl
While we were in North Carolina at UNC-Charlotte there was a man there that was growing these caterpillars. The showed them to the boys. Joey was impressed, Luke was more impressed with the apple juice and strawberries behind the caterpillars. The man told us that these caterpillars are quit rare. He also said that this caterpillar is the largest insect in the US. The first day we saw these caterpillars were just eating constantly. On my birthday, one had formed a cocoon. Kev took pictures of the cocoon. Apparently they will be in the cocoon till May and then will only live for 2 weeks to mate and hatch eggs.
