Making Ornaments

We have been making Christmas ornaments today.  We made these homemade ornaments and then painted and decorated them.  Luke really enjoyed painting them this year.  He painted one so much that when we picked it up it fell apart.  We will make more later on.  It seems everyone wants an ornament from the boys.

The final product

Joey's favorite that he painted

The only one that Luke painted that was dry enough to put glitter on, he likes a lot of paint.

We will now start the bidding.

I was suddenly awakened from my sleep this morning after I have worked 3 12 hour nights.  Apparently, Kev went to the bathroom and then checked his email.  During this time, Luke got into this hot chocolate mix that he had made the other day at a MOMS Club event.  He threw the mix all over the couches, the floors, and the rug.  It was a huge mess.  I am trying to save the rug, but am not sure if I can.  He was rubbing it into the rug when Kev found him.  Kev lost it.  So I think if anyone wants to offer a few cents to Kev right now, they might be the new owner of Luke David.

Growing Boys

Joey in his robe.  He gets super cold in the morning.
Luke throwing a fit because his blanket is in the washing machine.

Yesterday Joey mentioned that his shoes were hurting his feet.  When we bought his shoes in June we bought a size bigger than he needed.  Sure enough his size 10 shoes were to small.  He needs tennis shoes, Kev got him a pair of boot things yesterday.  I thought I might have some shoes someone gave us, but no I sure didn't.  In addition to shoes, he also needed bigger underwear.  So we were on a mission for shoes, Kev had got the underwear yesterday.  We went everywhere.  Finally got a pair at Kohl's.  While we were there, we decided to check Luke's feet.  His feet were also a size larger than his shoes.

Work take me away!!!

These boys have been super grumpy this week.  I have been grumpy, because I am back to getting little sleep because of my shoulder.  I am looking forward to go to work tonight to getting a little peace and quiet.

The Feast

Joey had his Thanksgiving Feast at school today.  They had little sausages (which he wouldn't eat), pancakes, carrots, and grapes.  They also had brownies for dessert.  After the feast, they got to go out and play on the playground.  They had a blast.  Luke also played on the playground.
Joey's place of honor.

There is my Swift Horse.
This is the Feast.
I don't know about this meal.
Joey and I.  His turkey has things he is thankful for on it.  Listed are "My brother, My playroom, Costumes, Snakes, food"
This is what Luke enjoyed.  He walked up and down these steps.
Here is the playground.

I forgot

I should have also mentioned that Joey has mastered the snapping of fingers.  One of the boys at his school could snap his fingers and then Joey was on a mission to snap his fingers.  Now anyplace we got he must show everyone that he can snap his fingers.  He is very proud of this.

20 Sizes

I have been enjoying my boys and here are a few things that my boys have done or said that have tickled me.  Joey was watching Sid the Science Kid a most excellent TV show about how kids can use science to figure things out in their world.  Joey thinks that Sid is only about the coolest kid in the world.  Sid's feet grew and his shoes didn't fit him anymore, he learned that he grew.  So he learned to measure himself and the other kids in his class and learned that everyone is different sizes.  Joey got to thinking about this and decided he would measure Luke and then himself.  He took his and put at Luke's ankle and said "That is one size!"  Then he went to his knee and said "That is two size."  He continued until he had got to the top of his head and then he shouted "Wow, Luke is 7 sizes!!!"  Then he started on himself.  The measurements were small and more frequent on Joey.  He screamed "Mom, I am 20 sizes.  I must be huge!!!"

Friday when Joey was at Ms. Kristie's she ask him what he wants for Christmas.  He told her that he wants 2 light sabers.  She then ask him what he would do if he wouldn't get those.  He thought for a minute and then very honestly told her "Well Ms. Kristie, I guess I won't have a Merry Christmas then."

Saturday I went to a yard sale at Joey's school.  I was only interested in one thing.  A light bright, it cost me a $1.50.  So when Luke is a sleep and Joey helps clean up without complaint in the playroom he can play with it.

Now to Luke.  Friday after Luke came home from the babysitter's and I was awake.  I said "Luke were you a good boy today for Ms. Kristie?"  He looked up and smiled then said "No! I'm bad!"

We have oranges on our tree that we are eating now.  Luke wanted one the other day.  He kept saying "Out! Out! Out!"  I didn't help him soon enough, so he grabbed my hand and pulled me.  I decided that we would go out there.  So he ran to the tree, pointing up and he said "Please apple!"

Finally Luke said to me "Night Night Mama!  Bye Bye Mama!  Love Mama!"  It made my heart swell.

Stupid Shoulder

I went back to the Orthopeadic Doctor today.  He ask me how I was doing.  I told him that I was slowly getting worse again.  I also told him I tried to stop the Mobic and I just couldn't without pain.  His solution was to injected it today and then operate when I want to set it up.  I am going to have surgery in January.  I am not sure when.  He said it would be immobilized for 2 weeks if it is just the bone spur, but 4 weeks if it has a partial tear.  He talked like he wouldn't be that surprised if it has a small tear of the rotator cuff.  So I will be trying to schedule it for the day after Joey's birthday.

Happy Veteran's Day

Today we got up and headed to the Veteran's Day parade in downtown Pensacola. We were able to see Rett and Everett (Ms. Kristie's son and husband) in the parade. It was nice to watch the bands, ROTC, scouts and military march through. We were glad we went. The boy's got flags which made them very happy.

Watching the Parade.Luke really enjoys it. He has a fat upper lip he slipped the other day and bumped his lip. He cried a lot and Kev flipped because there was lots of blood.

Joey and Me.
After the parade, Kev suggested that we traveled to UWF to go on a short hike. The boys love to poke around and study things in the woods as Joey calls it.
Just me, probably watching the boys do something.

Walking, I was the line ender. This is an important job, but not the most wanted job at 4 year old school.

Luke enjoying a walk.
This boy loves to be close to me as much as he can.

Me and my baby. If you don't believe me, just as him. He will tell you "Mama baby"

The boys are studying something.
They are studying these racoon tracks. This really impressed Joey, the field biologist. He loved it, but was disappointed that he didn't see the racoon. Then we came home and took a nap. This evening we headed to the YMCA. Joey has been having confident problems in swimming lessons, but with a little work he was swimming. Yep, he was swimming. He sort of does the Granny dog paddle. He was pretty excited about swimming. Luke didn't want to swim so he went to the Discovery Zone and played. He seems to really like it there. We were going to take him swim, but he wanted to stay.

Tomorrow I go back to the Orthopeadic Surgeon about my shoulder. It has been hurting me more again. Everyday it hurts me more.

Just Because

This is the Turkey Feather that Joey made for his class, this was some homework that they had.  The class is going to make a Turkey.  Each kid was to decorate a feather.
I went to JoAnn's today and got each boy a costume to play in.  Luke got a Firefighter.  So this
is Firefighter Luke get food for Alvin.
The pirate stole the firefighter's helmet.
This is Joey's costume, a Pirate costume.
A few weeks ago it was pretty cold and Luke had an ear infection so I got him a hat to keep his ears warm.  He wouldn't wear it outside, but he thought it was nice in our house.

2 Waffles

This has been a long week.  Luke was not well at all on Monday.  I took him to the doctor and she could find nothing wrong with him, but sent him to get labwork since he looked awful.  He wasn't playing and he wasn't eating or drinking.  When I picked Joey up from school they said he wouldn't eat.  He woke up with a fever and then he threw up.
Tuesday I got a call from Dr. Grier and Luke was dehydrated.  I was to give him 4 ounces of pedialyte every 4 hours.  Luke still wouldn't eat.  Joey still had a fever.
Wednesday, Joey woke up with no fever.  I decided to keep him home from school anyways.  Luke is still not eating much, but I was getting pedialyte popsicles.
Thursday, I sent Joey to school.  I thought Luke was doing better so he went to Ms. Kristie's.  She called me at 11:30 and said Luke wasn't playing and she couldn't get him to eat or drink again.  I went and got him and tried to get ahold of Dr. Grier.  I never got through to her.  I decided to just work really hard on getting fluids done him.  I slowly got him drinking and eating.
He got up this morning and was ready to play and he ate 2 waffles.  I hope that he is better.

Going stir crazy

I have two boys that are going crazy this morning.  They both are starting to feel better and they are stuck home with me.  Luke is slowly getting rehydrated.   He barely peed last night.  He refused to drink his pedialyte last night so I bought some popsicles.  This morning he ate 2 bananas, crackers with peanut butter, donuts and 2 pedialyte popsicles and juice.  He is starting to pee more.
Joey finally broke is temp and this morning is fight with Luke.  He is not happy at all that he couldn't go to school today.  The playroom is getting use today.

No excuses

The last day and a half have been very long.  I started out my morning not being able to keep Luke awake, he he was just well listless.  I got him into see Dr. Grier and she could find nothing wrong with him, but was concerned about him.  She sent him for labwork.  After we were done with Dr. Grier, I had to get Joey and then all three of us headed to Sacred Heart for labwork.  We came home and the boys took a nap.  Then Luke came and laid on the couch with me.  At 4pm, something changed and Luke started eating a little.  By 5pm, he was up walking around and acted better.  He had slept so much I was afraid he wouldn't sleep at night.  He did sleep.
At 4:45, I noticed Joey was asleep on the couch.  At 5:30, I went to wake him up and he had a fever of 103.  So now there are 2 boys cuddling with me on the couch.  Before Joey went to sleep he threw up.  Today he is just laying on the couch.
Dr. Grier had hoped to get Luke's labwork back last night, but we didn't hear from her.  This morning she called to tell me that Luke didn't have any signs of infection, but he was dehydrated.  So he is getting Pedialyte 4 ounces every 4 hours for 24 hours.
With all this going on, I managed to go vote.  So I think you can get out there.

For many hours

Today we have worked on converting Luke's room to a playroom and Joey's room will now be both boys' room to sleep in.  Basically there is one room with all the toys and one room with dressers and beds.  The cool part is that the rooms are connected by a closet.  The boys have not been allowed to get in the closet before, but now they can walk through the closet to the playroom.  They both are super impressed with this.  I moved everything out of the floor of the closet including my wedding dress which has been there since the day we moved in.

Two for the Price of one.

I worked Thursday night, but took Friday night off. I wanted to see the boys trick or treat. Then as an added bonus, I was able to go to the Employee Picnic awake instead of half asleep.
Last night I picked the boys up from Mrs. Kristie's, they were both excited to see me instead of Daddy. Mrs. Kristie was super excited to see me. Apparently the kids weren't good yesterday, she said Luke was good and Joey was a big help. The boys came home and got dressed for Halloween. We went to dinner and then to Trunk or Treat at Joey's school. That was a lot of fun. Then we came back to go trick or treating at our house.
This is the trick or treat bag Joey made at school.

Today we got up and went to the YMCA for swim lessons and then to Sacred Heart Hospital for the Employee Picnic. We learned a few things today. Luke is not a bull or horse rider, Joey will ride either or both. Luke will not touch the animals in the petting zoo. Both boys love jumping. Luke loves any game that you get a sucker from. The candy in the middle of the table is better than all the Sonny's Barbeque.

DSC00200He started to cry so I gave him is blanket, he made it another minute before he decided he must get off the pony.

DSC00202He was very impressed with this rabbit, but he wouldn't touch them.
