Luke and I

Luke and I have our own things that we love to do when we are home together.  Every morning after we drop Joey off we come home and turn on Sesame Street.  He loves Sesame Street.  It is like the only show that he really gets into.  He will sit on the couch and watch it for a long time.  Today we watched Sesame Street and played Mail man.  Luke was the mail man, he delivered packages for me, Joey, him, Daddy and Granny.  We were going to hold onto the packages for Granny till Thursday, but Luke went ahead and opened the pretend letter and laughed and laughed.  He said it was an Elmo card.  Really funny thing is everyone got funny Elmo cards.  I think this mail man made sure we all got Elmo cards.

Forgot

I picked Joey up from school today and I was told he had a bad day.  That he didn't feel good.  I am really not sure why they didn't call me, I would have come to get him.  When I picked him up he looked awful.  I took him home and he took a short nap.  He got up and wanted to go to Taekwondo.  I first I said no, but then I decided that he went to school and he thought he felt good enough.
When we got to Taekwondo, Mrs. Poff said that they forgot to give him a trophy.  He got 3rd place for something.  He was thrilled.  He gets to keep this trophy forever and ever.  He says he feels fine now and that the trophy helps keep him feeling well.

Interesting week

This week has been interesting.  Joey didn't go to school Monday or Tuesday, his allergies were making him feel really bad.  He has actually spent most of the time on the couch watching tv.  Anyone that know Joey knows that he does watch tv, but while playing something else and would never watch tv for 5-6 hours straight.  I did take him to the doctor yesterday to make sure it wasn't something more than his allergies, which it was not.

Luke has been having a runny nose and cough, but he feels fine.  If he does feel bad, you'd never know it.  He has run and played and talked none stop.  He just says anything and everything now. If you give him something no matter how big or small he uses the same phrase "Thank you for!"  This is one of my favorite phrases that he says and I will be sad when it leaves.  For 2 days he started calling me "Mommy" but has decided that he would rather call me "Momma"  so I am back to being his "Momma".  I must admit I do love hearing "Momma!"  I always told Kev that I wanted to be a "Momma".  This morning we got some pictures of the boys on the ponies at Cowboy day at Joey's school, Luke thought it was so funny.  He said "Joe Joe on neigh make me laugh!"  Finally it is raining here today and Luke told me "Me no like rain outside."  I am not sure where he likes rain.
Here are a few more Luke phrases that we hear often.
"I want Elmo tea juice, please!"  This means he wants some tea in his Elmo cup.
"I want pan cakes, please!"
"Daddy's cake home!"
"Joe Joe play with me!"
"I want to hold Momma!"  He says this when he wants me told hold him.
"I want to sit on Momma lap!"
"I play outside, please!"
"I see bus!"
"I want that car!"
"I want that bike!"
"I want snack!"

The Gulf Coast Martial Arts Tournament

Yesterday, Joey competed in his first taekwondo tournament.  I had to work, so I wasn't able to go.  Kev got a babysitter for Luke and took Joey.  Joey had a great time.  Kev is super proud of his boy and was so happy that he got to go with him.

More Cowboy Day and the events of yesterday

Picked Joey up and he was super excited.  He had a wonderful day.  He got to meet the Cowboy and he got to ride a horse.  Here are a few pictures of him dressed up in his cowboy gear with his hobby horse that he made at school, he named it "Whitey and Blacky".  I love his cowboy hat that he made at school also.

Of course, yesterday was St. Patrick's Day.  He came home so excited.  You see they went outside and when they came back in their chairs were all over the room, there was green 4 leaf clovers all over the floor, candy wrappers on the floor, and green water in the toilets.  He talked so much about the leprechaun making a mess of the place, I couldn't help but put some green food coloring in the toilet to get him going some more.  He is sure that the leprechaun was so ornery yesterday that he will have to sleep for days and days to recover.  He told Mrs. Nancy about the toilet water turning green at his house and she said "Joey that always happens on St. Patrick's Day!"

Cowboy day

Today is Cowboy day at Joey's school.  So Luke and I were allowed to stick around and ride the pony and meet Cowboy Bob.
I have been asking Luke everyday if he would ride a horse and over and over again, he has told me that he wouldn't ride a horse.  Today he got up and changed his mind.  So we waited around so he could ride a pony.  He would be one of the first ones to get on and he watched many kids get on the ponies.  Finally he got the nerve up and got on the pony.  He seemed to enjoy his time with the pony.
Joey will get to ride on the pony later on probably around 11:30.  Someone is taking pictures of all the students today.

I got on the pony
I will go on a ride.
I am a pro at this.
I like this.

A missed momma

I worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this weekend.  Apparently I was greatly missed.  Luke cuddled with me a lot today.  I didn't get to far from him.  Tonight after he got out of the bath, he climbed up to watch some shows and cuddled with me.  I wonder if this is how next Monday will be, since I work the same hours next weekend.  I hope it is.  I love to cuddle with my boys.

Don't believe everything you are told

After Luke hurt his ankle yesterday, he swore he'd never go outside to play again.  When Joey heard this, he said "Luke are you ever going outside to play again?"  Luke said "No!  Daddy's block hurt me!"  Joey didn't miss a beat he said "Luke we all know you will go outside to play again!"
Joey was right.  He came home from dropping off Joey and then he watched Elmo and was ready to get his shoes on and play outside.  He got out there and play and played.  I snuck in to wash a load of clothing including his blankie.  I did this at about 10:45, he came in about 11:20 and screamed and cried until the blankie was clean and dry.  He was miserable.  He came in because his ankle started hurting him a little.  Since he couldn't get blankie, he made sure he let me know how much his ankle hurt him without his blanket.

ER again

Took Luke to the ER over the cinder block accident, if you don't know what I am talking read the previous blog complete with picture.  No fracture, the growth plate looks awesome, just a lot of swelling and bruising.  They want him to walk on it as much as possible to get to get all the bruising out of it.  The ER doctor said that he thinks he'll be seeing Luke a lot.  I hope he is wrong.  Of course, he has been to the ER 2 times in about 6 months.

Playing outside can be dangerous.

Luke played outside all day long.  I told him to come so we could go get Joey.  He screamed "No!" and running he went.  Some how he pulled a Cinder block down and this is what his ankle looked like just minutes after.  He cried a lot.  I wanted to cry for him.  He said "Me not go back outside!"

Daddy made it home today at 2pm.  The boys were super excited to see him.  He looks tired.  Tomorrow he will have the boys in the morning while I get my hair colored.

Student of the week for Poff Taekwondo

Every week on Wednesday at Poff Taekwondo they have a student of the week.  This student has worked really hard and showed lots of improvement and come to all the practices.  This week the winner is Joey.  This means he gets to bring home this huge trophy for one week.  When Mrs. Poff called his name, I saw the shocked look on his face.  Luke said "Joe Joe won!"  When we got to the car, Joey explained that he knew he was going to win this trophy.  He also explained this is a huge trophy for his first trophy and the next one must be the size of a house.

Pizza night

Since Kev is away we are having kid friendly meals everyday.  Yesterday was chicken nugget day.  Tonight was pizza night.  We made a homemade pizza.  The boys helped.  Both boys were super excited to help, but they weren't as excited to eat it.  It was super yummy, but they wanted to eat the strawberries that I bought at Publix today.  Yesterday I bought 2 pounds of strawberries, I thought it looked like a huge amount.  They finished them before we went to bed last night, then Joey was upset that he couldn't have any in his lunch.  I bought 4 pounds today.  They have polished off 2 pounds today, I did put some in Joey's lunch for tomorrow.  Joey wanted more, but I told him we were out.  I was truly afraid that we would have none my tonight.

I had said that Joey was doing so well with Kev being gone.  He is not.  He has wet the bed at least once every single night and last night he wet his bed and then wet my bed.  He has cried at school over nothing, then told Mrs. Nancy that he wanted to be by himself and that he wanted me.  She knows Kev is out of town, so she is working with him.
Luke has at least 2 times in the day that he cries for Kev.  He isn't as pathetic as he was on Sunday.  He is getting better with talking to him on the phone.

My Daddy's not home in bed!

Kev left yesterday for his week long trip to Key Largo with his students from Pine Forest.  I had worked the night before and got very little sleep Friday because Mrs. Kristie had to go to the doctor, so I had to pick the boys up at 1:30.  Thankfully, Frannie came to the house very early on Saturday and stayed with the boys until 4pm.  I got some rest.
The rest of the evening, I got to hear poor pathetic Luke tell me his Daddy wasn't home.  So we left the house and ran around some.  When we got home he went to bed.  All was fine with him until 2am.  He woke up, he was crying.  He wanted to go to sleep in my bed.  When I got him in there he says "My daddy's not home in bed!"  It took me like 20 minutes to get him back to sleep.
When we got up this morning, I told them I'd take them for donuts.  Luke said "No, my daddy eats donuts!"  He was really upset until he got to leave him a message on his phone.
The rest of the day hasn't been as bad for him.  We went to the Naval Air Museum this afternoon for a few hours.  That is like the perfect place for any boy, especially Luke.  Joey likes it, but Luke loves it.
Joey was being the pilot
Luke is the best pilot ever.  He said "I fly airplane high!"
Joey was very impressed with this.  He thought it was so cool that his hand print was just there.
Luke drawing for a minute
While Luke prefers piloting, Joey seemed to really enjoy playing with these aircraft carriers.
Luke as a Blue Angel Pilot.  He says he doesn't want to fly this plane.  He picked out about 30 other planes that he says he will fly.
