High School Musical and other stuff.

I won 4 free tickets to High School Musical on Ice from Pcolamoms.com through the Pensacola News Journal. I can see if you were 8-12 year old girl that this would be awesome. We took Joey and he seemed to enjoy it. He didn't understand where the ice was and we had to explain that. I can honestly say I was glad that we didn't purchase the tickets.

All three of us well mostly

Luke stayed home with a babysitter. The show didn't start until 7:30 and well frankly Luke can't stay up that late. He has been having lots of fun these last few days.

Happy Belated Birthday to GB. Hope that these pictures help bring a smile to your day.

ROV

As some of you know Kev is taking a group of kids to San Diego this summer for an ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) international competition. They will be going up against lots of High Schools and Colleges. His students have been working really hard on this and he is super proud of all that they have done.

Worm soup for lunch

Me and the boys always having fun
I am so luck to have two boys that like to be around each other.
Luke after the worm throwing.
Joey and Me just having fun.
When you have two boys you get use to the boy things of the world. Like for lunch, you never know what will happen. We had Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup for lunch. When we started to eat it, it was brought to my attention that we weren't eating Chicken Noodle soup, but Worm soup. The noodles had become worms and the chicken, well it was worm poop. Yeah, Joey doesn't typically eat the chicken. At anyrate, Luke was eating pretty good and then after he heard he was eating worms, he started just eating the crackers that were crunched up in his soup and spitting and throwing the noodles.
I have learned that everything is an adventure. That we as adults don't look at life the right way. I think that 4 year old boys have more of the right things figured out about the world than adults do. Joey explained to me this morning after watching an episode of Power Rangers that if everyone was nice we would need Heroes like him.

What's for dinner?

Brocolli from Joey's garden, that is what's for dinner. Joey tried to share with Luke, but Luke took one bite and spit it out. I told Joey that Luke doesn't like brocolli and so Joey ask him and he shook his head no. I thought I might eat some brocolli, but Joey ate it all and then ate a little fruit salad and was done.
This week I need to go buy more strawberries and freeze them. The boys are really enjoying fruit salad with the strawberries that I froze. The plan was for the strawberries to be used later on, but they keep asking for them.

Date night

Several weeks ago I found out for sure that Sheryl Crow was coming to Pensacola. Instead of suggestion that we go, I did what any woman that has been married for awhile would do. Yep, I bought the tickets and then sent my husband an email thanking him for buying me Sheryl Crow tickets and suggesting that he should work on getting a babysitter.
It was great. We went to the Orr House for dinner first. We had a nice relaxing conversation and got to enjoy spending time together.
Then we headed down to the Civic Center for the Sheryl Crow concert. It was great. She has an amazing voice and she sounds as amazing live as she does recorded. She is not a showman like Jimmy Buffett. I got to sing to all my favorite song. I was in heaven.

The boys seemed to be happy with the babysitter and she was impressed with how easily they went to sleep. Joey seems fine now.
The above picture shows you what our little Luke is up to. He has decided that climbing is tons of fun. So several times a day like especially when the adult figure runs to the bathroom, he climbs up on the table. I am not liking this at all.

Thank God

We had a scary thing happen this week. So we took Joey to the doctor on Monday because he was complaining of his shoulder hurting and he had a fever. They decided to run a bunch of labs on him. Well his blood sugar was elevated. So yesterday morning I took him in for a fasting glucose level. We have been waiting for the results with half a knot in our stomachs, we finally got the phone call and his blood sugar was normal at 72.
Thank God that we don't have to go down the other path, of course, I know we could have handled it. Like everyone else, we just didn't want to.

High School Musical

A person that never wins anything, just won 4 tickets to High School Musical. I am completely shocked. Next week we will be going to see High School Musical on Ice.

Did I mention that my loving husband is taking me to see Sheryl Crow on Saturday??? I bought the tickets and then informed him that he was taking me and should find a babysitter.

Now we just have to get Joey healthy so this all can happen.

It continues

Can't get into all the details here of what is going on, but just pray for Joey. Yeah, he is still sick. He still has a fever and he just feels bad. We had to take him this morning for more blood work.
Luke is feeling better. He woke up at 4am ready to go. I guess his 6 hours of sleep yesterday messed his sleep at night up slightly and cured him.
I would say that Luke is slightly behind when it comes to talking, but I would also say that he doesn't like to do anything until he can do it perfect. So today while playing ball, he screamed "MomMom get ball!" Yeah, I am MomMom.

Turner Family Hospital

Most of today has been spent taking care of two sick boys. Yes, it feels as though I am at a one man hospital. I believe I am the cook, housekeeper, laundry services, nurse and when all else fails I am the mommy.
Here at the Turner Family Hospital we have lots of activities for sick boys. We have sleeping where your friendly nurse will give you doses of Tylenol or Motrin whichever you are due and then Mommy comes in and will rock or rub your back or whatever you want to help you rest. We have a large selection of movies for your viewing pleasure. We have meals or if you prefer we can just provide you with pretzels and your drink of choice. We have laundry services and guarentee to get your blanket back as quickly as possible and smelling good or your money back. Our excellant laundry services also take care of pajamas, shorts, shirts, and provide services for our employees. We offer room cleaning services where our housekeepers wipe down the beds and mattresses or steamclean the mattresses, plus provide freshly cleaned linen. Now you are requesting an item that we don't have in stock, don't worry just let your friendly nurse know and she will contact our local courier service and he will pick it up.
With all the great news about the Turner Family Hospital, I would just like to say we are full. We can no longer except patients. In order to continue to give this high quality care we do not feel we can except more patients. So if our courier service is sick he has been told he isn't allowed to come in.

This is a very bad Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning when Joey woke up he went to the bathroom and then came to our room. He was burning up with a fever. He said his back and arm hurt. I gave him Tylenol. He laid around at 8:30 when Dr. Grier's office opened I called and talked to the nurse. She thought they should see him.

We went at 1:30. By this time he still has a fever and he only complains of his right shoulder hurting. Since they saw him on Thursday for his legs and sternum hurting, they were aware of everything going on. They noticed that his throat was a little red. She decided to check him for strep, it was negative. So they ran a bunch of labs checking for arthritis and infection and electrolyte imbalances. We made it through the labwork.

I had taken Luke to the babysitter's. When I went to pick him up he was asleep on the couch. She said that he had played and that they had a snack. When his snack was over he climbed up on the couch and went to sleep. I picked him up and he had a fever. So I have two sick boys.

Right now one is on the couch watching tv and the other one is sleeping in his crib. I hope they sleep some tonight.

Fun Weekend

We ended up having a wonderful and fun weekend. Some friends of ours that live in Mississippi that are getting ready to move to Virginia came to Pensacola for the weekend. So we were able to get together with them last night and then again today for awhile. Today we headed to Lulu's. It was a fun time. Joey got a Henna tattoo, so there are some pictures of that.

After we got home. I mowed the front yard and then headed up to Home Depot to get some supplies for my gardening. We needed to mulch and weed some. I did get a few more flowers also. I have the flowers beds just about how I want them now.

Something I thought I'd try
I thought this was neat.
Things are finally shipping up

Finally our vegetable garden is coming right along. I will need to freeze some brocolli. I think next weekend we will be eating homegrown peas and probably some homegrown potatoes.

Crazy few days

Wednesday night Joey woke up complaining of his legs hurting him. He screamed and cried and it was terrible. He gets growing pains that seem very painful for him. I thought that this was all it was. He woke up moaning and crying a few more times. Thursday morning he screamed for me and said he wanted to go to the living room I told him to come on. He informed me that his legs hurt to bad and he couldn't walk. This continued for awhile. I tried to stand him up and his knees were bent. If I tried to straighten them he screamed. I put him in a warm bath. Afterwards he started walking a very little. He said his legs were sore and then he started to complain of sternal pain. I dropped Luke off at the babysitter and then talk to Kev. Kev left work and when he came home Joey sat on his lap not moving at all for 30 minutes. He had no fever, just this pain. Well we waited until Dr. Grier's office opened at noon and took him at 12:30. As soon as I got the appointment, he said his pain stopped. Dr. Grier checked him out and wasn't really sure what was going on. She said if it happens again this severe then she'd check him for arthritis and run some other labs.

He got up this morning and was fine. He slept all night, but he was given Motrin at bedtime. He isn't compaining of any pain today. He is running and jumping and his normal self.

Luke is just happy to sing IF YOUR HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT, he now sings "Hooray"!

I must work tonight. I am still tired and don't want to go, but I will make it.

No news is good news.

Well that is what my mom always said. I think in this case no news is well no news. We haven't been up to much.

This morning I took the boys to get haircuts. They are looking a little less hairy. Luke has a big problem with cape that they use when cutting hair, so I just took his shirt off of him. He had a sucker during his haircut and thus he was a big sticky and hair mess. He was cleaned up.

Then we went on a mission for fruit. We got more strawberries. We love our strawberries. Next week we are going strawberry picking with MOMS Club. For some reason I think Joey will eat more than we end up with in our basket. We stopped by this place up the road, it has strange hours and we now know why. They don't have enough fruit in the store to keep it open. So we headed to our favorite place Bailey's. We got corn, strawberries, peanuts and a cucumber.

Our garden is growing. We have pea pods, potatoes are starting to bloom, we have small tiny heads on he brocolli and the green beans and tomatoes continue to grow. Joey checks his garden daily.

Now that the boys are getting bigger. I have gotten to work outside more with my flowers. This is so relaxing to me. This weekend I hope to get more mulch to put down. I also want some more flowers for the other side of the front porch. My husband and son picked some out and I used them, but they aren't the best for our yard or weather. I am not sure what we will plant. The other side has many plants that are just starting to green up, some of which my husband thought were dead.

Suckers and Underoos! Oh My!

We headed to Target this morning to get some much needed diapers and a few other household needs. Joey was terrible. He was bossing me around. I let him have it. We had a serious heart to heart. Then Luke got a sucker for being good, while Joey got nothing. There were a lot of tears and he tried to take the sucker away from Luke, but he couldn't get it.
I can't get the blue off of him now.

Yesterday when we were at Walmart we noticed that they sold Underoos. We didn't even know they made these anymore. Well Joey loves him some superheros. So went got him some Batman Underoos. When we got home we realized that the shirt was a size 4 and the underwea is size 6. We had to return those this morning. Joey was super excited when we got home. He had to try them on.

I am hoping that Joey will settle down and we will be able to get along today. Luke and me are doing just fine. My major problem with Joey is him being so bossy. I will correct this.

Last night Joey was talking. He likes to sleep without a shirt on, but as soon as he gets up in the morning he has to put a shirt on. I said that he is just like his daddy, because Kev does this also. Joey responded with "You bet!"

Luke is starting to talk some. This morning he screamed "Bankie!" for his Blanket.

Strawberry Shortcake Birthday

We went to Tyler's 4 year old birthday party today. Tyler played on Joey's soccer team. Tyler would sometimes kiss Joey and Jayden, neither boy seemed to mind. So today she turned 4. I was talking to her, this was the conversation.
ME "So Tyler is today your birthday?"
TYLER "Yeah today is my Strawberry Shortcake Birthday!"
ME "WOW! How old are you?"
TYLER "I'm 4, it is my Strawberry Shortcake 4 year old Birthday! Come see my cake."
We walk into the house to see the cake.
TYLER "Look it has Strawberry Shortcake. It says Happy Strawberry Shortcake 4 year old Birthday to Tyler, that's me."
Then she ran off. The cake did have Strawberry Shortcake on it, but it said Happy Birthday Tyler.

The boys had a blast. She had a jump thing in the backyard with Strawberry Shortcake. Which Joey loved. Joey thought Luke should jump. Luke wouldn't get any for anything. Luke walked and ate cake and ice cream and ginger snaps. Joey jumped and played with Myles and Jayden mainly. Kev got to talk a lot to Myles' dad which he loved. I got to talk to a few people and mainly got to chase Luke, but that is my job. I follow Luke. My mom says that Luke reminds her so much of Aaron. She also says that I could put up with Aaron when no one else could, but doesn't know if I should have to forever but will be because Luke is just like him.

I think we are going to try to get together some with Jayden and Myles this spring and summer. These boys have lots of fun together. Myles has a sister a few months younger than Luke. Luke and Brianna play great together. So that will be great.

On a different note. If my shoulder doesn't start to feel better, I fear I will need to go back to see Dr. Jones. We have been trying to have rotten weather so I am hoping it is the weather.

Soccer will be over tonight

Thank goodness soccer will be over tonight. We were trying to get Joey ready for his game and he threw a terrible fit, he screamed and cried and kicked. We finally got him dressed. He says he doesn't want to play again. Kev told him he'd never let him play again, but we all know if he wants to play again he will. I wonder if everyone else goes through this. Of course, every Friday is like this. He doesn't nap at the babysitter's house, he plays super hard and then by 5pm he is exhausted. He left the house looking great, smiling and talking about how great he was going to do at soccer.

I must go to work, so I will miss this game. I would go for a little while, but it is across town tonight. I have to get myself ready and then pick up Everett tonight.

When I said Bye to the boys. I told Joey to have a good game and he said "Mom take care of lots of sick people."

My luck is back

My nursing pin was lost. I couldn't find it anywhere last week before I went to work. Those of you that know me best know that I freak out when I don't have my pin at work. There was a time, I'd make Kev bring it to me if at all possible. I know this sounds weird, but it is lucky. It insures that I will have a better shift. When I graduated from Mt. Carmel I knew that I would always wear my pin and I do. No one wears their nursing pin down here, so that makes me sort of unique. I knew the darn thing would show up, but Friday came and still no pin. We looked and I said a lot of prayers. Last night Kev found it underneath the corner cabinet. I feel my luck is back. Yes, this is the most important jewerly to me. I know I should say my wedding band or engagement ring, but that pin is all me. I earned it. I have visions of my boys fighting over it when I die, probably will never happen. Thank God it is back!!!!

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Lets see here. Granny left this morning. Joey has been missing her terrible. He keeps asking if she is in Ohio yet. She left a plastic bracelet from church here, I am sure it was no big deal. Joey thought it was, but Kev wrote a note supposedly from Granny telling him that she left it for him to watch. Baby Luke has been cuddling with me all day long. I think some of it is because his leg hurts from his shot and part of it was because he had me all to himself.

We were suppose to go to an ice cream social with MOMS Club today, but we didn't go because Luke kept rubbing his leg. I was afraid we'd get there and he'd be grumpy. I think this made him happy. He was able to love on me.
Tonight for supper we had one of Luke's favorite meals, spaghetti. He loves it, but Joey hates it and Kev isn't a great fan, so we rarely eat it. I wondered after we had it and I was cleaning up the big mess why I didn't fix it when Mom was here to help clean Luke and/ or the kitchen table.

The last picture is of Luke in the bath tub after I brushed his teeth. He loves to have his teeth brushed, he just giggles the whole time. He will point at his tooth brush.
