Summer is here

Summer is a wonderful time.  The boys have been enjoying most things about it.  Watermelon, playing on the swing set, riding bikes, and just being outside all day long.  There are a few things about summer aren't so good like skinned up knees and having to come in for a bath.
Joey has spent hours sitting on the swing eating watermelon

The new homemade punching bag
This has brought a lot of enjoyment to both boys.
This is Luke's knee.  He fell and got up and started playing again.  Joey had to tell him his knee was bleeding.  He kept playing and finally we talked him into getting in the bath to get it cleaned up.  Then he insisted he needed a bandaid.

Things are changing

First I would like to start by saying that my $1000 headache is finally gone.  I figure with ER, Urgent Care, Family Doctor, loss of work, medicines and CT scan, we have lost $1000 over this.  That doesn't include all the money that our insurance has paid for my head to stop hurting.

Joey has been practicing on whistling and now he can do it.  He is super excited.  If a boy (Joey) eats 3/4 of a watermelon in one day, it does bad things to a boy's gut.

Luke no longer calls himself "Nuke", he is now "Luke".  Luke insisted that he needed tennis shoes, because "Cool guys were tennis shoes."  I am in trouble at 2 he knows he wants to be cool.

Kev is ready for school to be out.  He is tired.  The whole house including Kev took a nap today.

My head, my aching head

Yeah, I still have a headache.  I went to my doctor today and got more medicine and a shot of Toradol.  Will head for a CT of the head tomorrow around noon.  Hopefully, by tomorrow for my CT I will be thinking this is a waste of time.  They put me on a medication call Mexalt, it is for migraines.  I had to wait till I could go get Joey before I took the medicine, because it might make me tired.  I took it about 15 minutes ago and I think it is starting to help things.

This has been a very long day

I decided last night if my head was no better this morning, I would go to the doctor.  So Kev woke me up at 6am and my head was pounding.  He gave me some medicine.  I was thankful that the boys slept till 7:15.  I got up with them and called the babysitter.  Got everyone ready.  At 8:05 I called my family doctor.  He had no openings for today.  My options were to wait and see if someone cancelled or take an appointment for tomorrow or go to Urgent Care.  I decided to go to Urgent Care.  I was sure it would be an in and out sort of thing.  Well I was part right, I went in and the Nurse Practitioner talked to me and decided I needed a CT scan of the head.  According to her, my insurance wouldn't cover it if she sent me, but would if I went to the ER.  She recommended I go to the ER in Gulf Breeze, it would take less time.  I got in my car and headed to Gulf Breeze.  I waited and waited and finally saw someone at Gulf Breeze.  She really checked me out.  In fact, I don't think I have had a physician check me out this well in years.  She said she truly saw no reason to do a CT scan.  She told me that neurologically I was intact, I just had a terrible headache.  She recommended a liter of IV fluids, morphine for my headache and zofran for my nausea.  I ended up getting 2 shots of morphine.  In the middle of all of this, I had to get a hold of Kevin to get Joey and then to come get me.  I ended up leaving the ER at 3:30 today.  Basically, all we found out is that I had a migraine.  We aren't sure what caused this.  If I am not any better then I have to go to my family doctor and be referred to a neurologist for the headache workup.

My wild little man

Last week Luke mastered the art of opening doors.  So a few times he opened the door out to the garage.  My solution was to keep the garage door down, which I try to do anyways, and to lock that door. He hasn't figured out the lock yet.  Well I had warned Kev of this, but he forgot or something.  Kev went to throw something in the trash.  Well Luke followed him outside.  He then opened that door like three more times.  He decided that we needed a chain on that door.  So off they went to Home Depot and right away he installed the ever popular chain to that door.  Now I don't mind that he put it up, I just thought it was funny that he thought to do that.  I just fear this summer while I am working full time that all doors will have chains,  the furniture will be bolted to the floor, and everything else will be secured some way shape or form.  Luke isn't bad and doesn't do bad things, he is just busy and you must constantly watch him.

On Friday, at the babysitter he took a hair brush and hit Joey in the face with it.  He got in big trouble with the babysitter.  She slapped his hand.  I ask Luke if he hit Joey in the face with a hair brush, Luke said "I don't know!"  I then ask him if he got his hand slapped, he responded with "I don't know!"  Joey would totally have told on himself.  Luke can't remember.  I love it.

Birthday parties and parades

This morning I got off work at 8am and headed to Joey's school for the preschool yard sale.  I didn't see much of anything so I left without spending a dime.  I came home spent a few minutes with the boys and headed to sleep.
I was woke up at 1:15 by Luke, who opened the door to tell me that Joey hurt him and Daddy said no.  I still am not sure what was going on, but everyone was mad at Luke.  So I got up and took Luke to Target.  At Target, he showed me he had the "I wants".  He wanted everything he saw including a little sundress that was pink.  He got nothing.
We came home and got Kevin and Joey so we could head to Sophie's birthday party.  She is in Joey's class at school.  She had a wonderful birthday party at a really fun place in Gulf Breeze.  Both boys had a blast.
On the way home there was a parade tonight in downtown Pensacola.  Of course, we couldn't miss a parade.  So we hung out and went to the parade.  The boys had a blast.  Joey said that it was the best parade he has ever been to.
