I am an idiot

The show was at 1pm, not 2pm. The wonderful people of the Saenger Theater are helping out, so Luke and I will go at 4:30. Thankfully they have been great to me.

Excited

We have been to mass. Kevin and Luke stayed in the cry room. Luke informed us yesterday that he doesn't like church. Joey and I sat behind the chorus and in front of the Fina's. Joey did well.

At school everyone calls Joey, Joseph. Before school started he said that would tell everyone to call him Joey, but they all call him Joseph. He says only one kid calls him Joey. He seems to like it that way. Today he started CCD, his teacher ask him his name and he said "Joseph." He proceed to write Joseph on everything he did. He had a blast at CCD.

In about an hour and a half Luke and I will have our big date at Elmo Live. He is going to be shocked. I will post pictures later in the day.

A special Turner Family Day

Today would have been Thomas' 7th birthday. We had our annual Turner Family day all planned out. We were going to go camping. Well it rained and is suppose to rain more tonight. So we went to plan B. I worked last night. So I came home and slept. The boys headed out to Fort Pickens and had an amazing time so I have heard. Then when I got up from sleeping. We all headed to get hotdogs at The Doghouse Deli. Then we went to Cordova Lanes and went bowling. Afterwards got ice cream and then hiked a trail at UWF. The best part is that when we got home, we saw a rainbow. We have always thought of Thomas as our rainbow maker.
Luke was super proud of the stone.
My boys.
Me and Joey. Does anyone notice the mouse on my shoulder?
The stone
Bowling is fun, but maybe not the best idea for my shoulder
Joey bowling. He got a strike today and he was thrilled. He said that Jesus told him to get a strike.
The whole family
Luke bowling
Action shot of Kev
Eating ice cream
Thanks to everyone that has called to check on us, sent us emails, etc. It truly has been a blessed day. The only thing that could make it better is if I got a phone call from Cleveland to tell me that I am an Aunt again.

I wish everyday was like today

I have been looking forward to spending time with just Luke since Joey is in school. Since Joey went back to school it has taken time to get the house in order and for Luke to get use to being the only child during the day.
Yesterday I made play dough. Luke told me that he didn't like play dough, but he quickly changed his mind last night. I introduced him to it with Joey. They had a blast and Luke was getting super creative with it. So this morning I pulled the play dough out and he played for about 20 minute. He laughed and enjoyed himself the entire time. When I said it was time to put it away, he was fine with it.
Enjoying making things.
Talking with his creations. He made airplanes, cars, dinosaurs and dogs.
After play dough time Luke watched Sesame Street. He loves Sesame Street. When Sesame Street is off I always turn the TV off. Today we headed to the TT Wentworth Museum. We go to the 3rd floor and play. Even though we were the only 2 people there, we didn't care and we had a delightful time.
Steering a ship

Looking for bad guys.
He decided to canoe
Eating eggs.
He said he was drinking coffee.
He said this is where you get coffee. (I found this funny, because I don't drink coffee and Kev only drinks coffee at Starbucks occasionally)
After playing hard we decided we would try the Dog House Deli in downtown Pensacola. I had never been there. They have lots of hotdogs, so this is the perfect place for Luke David since he loves hotdogs. He ate his hotdog in no time.
Luke at his favorite restaurant.
We got in the car and in no time he was sound asleep.
I had to wake him up to go get his Joe Joe. Joey seemed to have a delightful day at school. They studied Mr. B, Mr. B loves buttons. He also came home and showed me a picture book. He was to tell me a story based on the pictures. I figure that the 5 page book should be about 60 pages with all the description that Joey put into it.
I will go back to volunteer tomorrow.

Preparing for Saturday

Saturday is September 12. Yuck!!! This is Thomas' 7th birthday. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him and wonder what if. We try to make this day a very happy loving family filled day. We think that is what he would want. Today we worked on the new improved stepping stone for his tree. We will set the stone out on his birthday by his tree.
The new stone. Everyone picked out something that they thought he would love.
Joey= Army guy
Luke= Goofy
Kev= Car
Me= shark
We put the maple leaves on it because his tree is a red maple.
The hard working men and creators of the stone.
Luke ran away at the last minute. Kev was trying to get him back.

Volunteer

Today was my first day as a volunteer at Sherwood Elementary. When Joey went for his pre-kindergarten testing Kevin told Mrs. Enfinger that I was interested in volunteering some. She was super excited. Right now I plan on doing this once a week for 30 minutes on Thursdays.

Today my job was to help the kids do a very basic math computer game. I helped by putting their school number in and getting it set up with the math program. A lot of these kids had never used a computer before or very limited use. They were to do matching of things. The first group I did took no time at all and I thought this is so easy. The next group was a little slower. The last group was Joey and these two other little boys. Joey did what he was suppose to do with little to no help. The other boys were so nice to me, but I must have explained to them 10 times how to use the mouse. One of them got kicked off the computer because he kept hitting a button and making the computer do all sorts of weird things. Mrs. Enfinger runs a very tight ship, but the kids love her. While I did this she worked in reading groups. The yellows were with her they were suppose to find the letters in their name, this was difficult for the yellows. I heard her say to one kid "What letter does your name start with? We go over this everyday. I just want you to remember that one letter right now!" This kid has never been to school, so Joey tells me.

Joey told me today that he thinks that the kids in kindergarten are nicer than the kids at pre school.

Sick Man

Today Joey stayed home from school. He woke up with laryngitis and just sort of felt crummy. He had no fever. He hasn't done much today, but his voice is getting stronger and he says he is starting to feel a little better. He did take an hour nap today. I think he could have gone to school today, but would have felt pretty rotten the entire day. Not to mention, this morning no one would have heard him. He is currently putting puzzles together and being quiet. When he talks it sort of makes my throat hurt me. He says tomorrow he will be attending. He is sad he missed art.
