Student of the week for Poff Taekwondo

Every week on Wednesday at Poff Taekwondo they have a student of the week.  This student has worked really hard and showed lots of improvement and come to all the practices.  This week the winner is Joey.  This means he gets to bring home this huge trophy for one week.  When Mrs. Poff called his name, I saw the shocked look on his face.  Luke said "Joe Joe won!"  When we got to the car, Joey explained that he knew he was going to win this trophy.  He also explained this is a huge trophy for his first trophy and the next one must be the size of a house.

Pizza night

Since Kev is away we are having kid friendly meals everyday.  Yesterday was chicken nugget day.  Tonight was pizza night.  We made a homemade pizza.  The boys helped.  Both boys were super excited to help, but they weren't as excited to eat it.  It was super yummy, but they wanted to eat the strawberries that I bought at Publix today.  Yesterday I bought 2 pounds of strawberries, I thought it looked like a huge amount.  They finished them before we went to bed last night, then Joey was upset that he couldn't have any in his lunch.  I bought 4 pounds today.  They have polished off 2 pounds today, I did put some in Joey's lunch for tomorrow.  Joey wanted more, but I told him we were out.  I was truly afraid that we would have none my tonight.

I had said that Joey was doing so well with Kev being gone.  He is not.  He has wet the bed at least once every single night and last night he wet his bed and then wet my bed.  He has cried at school over nothing, then told Mrs. Nancy that he wanted to be by himself and that he wanted me.  She knows Kev is out of town, so she is working with him.
Luke has at least 2 times in the day that he cries for Kev.  He isn't as pathetic as he was on Sunday.  He is getting better with talking to him on the phone.

My Daddy's not home in bed!

Kev left yesterday for his week long trip to Key Largo with his students from Pine Forest.  I had worked the night before and got very little sleep Friday because Mrs. Kristie had to go to the doctor, so I had to pick the boys up at 1:30.  Thankfully, Frannie came to the house very early on Saturday and stayed with the boys until 4pm.  I got some rest.
The rest of the evening, I got to hear poor pathetic Luke tell me his Daddy wasn't home.  So we left the house and ran around some.  When we got home he went to bed.  All was fine with him until 2am.  He woke up, he was crying.  He wanted to go to sleep in my bed.  When I got him in there he says "My daddy's not home in bed!"  It took me like 20 minutes to get him back to sleep.
When we got up this morning, I told them I'd take them for donuts.  Luke said "No, my daddy eats donuts!"  He was really upset until he got to leave him a message on his phone.
The rest of the day hasn't been as bad for him.  We went to the Naval Air Museum this afternoon for a few hours.  That is like the perfect place for any boy, especially Luke.  Joey likes it, but Luke loves it.
Joey was being the pilot
Luke is the best pilot ever.  He said "I fly airplane high!"
Joey was very impressed with this.  He thought it was so cool that his hand print was just there.
Luke drawing for a minute
While Luke prefers piloting, Joey seemed to really enjoy playing with these aircraft carriers.
Luke as a Blue Angel Pilot.  He says he doesn't want to fly this plane.  He picked out about 30 other planes that he says he will fly.

10 reasons that my 2 year old is feeling better

10.)  He woke up and got out of bed and started jumping in Joey's bed.  Yeah, Joey was asleep.
9.)  He ate a little breakfast and threw what he couldn't eat at the dogs while laughing all the time.
8.)  Instead of laying on the couch he has been jumping on the couch.
7.)  When he had a few minutes that he didn't feel well.  I put him in the bath, it seems to feel really great to him.  I thought I'd wash his stinky blanket and while I ran out to throw it in the washer, he pulled a clean dry towel in the bath with him.  Yeah, he thought this was very funny.
6.)  Throwing balls at Momma instead of saying very pathetically "Momma, please ball."
5.)  Running all over the house uncontrollable.
4.)  Throwing a ton of toys in the kitchen, just to do it.
3.)  Insisting on getting dressed instead of wearing pajamas.  "Momma, I want Mickey shirt!"
2.)  Not wanting to cuddle.  "Momma, not now! Me play!"
and finally the
#1 reason my 2 year old is feeling better
The screaming "Shoes on!  Outside to play!"

A sight I don't like to see

Luke wanted to sleep in my bed.  He got in there and got covered up and in no time was sound asleep.
This was this morning after his bath.  He didn't want to get in the bath, but once he got in he didn't want to get out.
He wanted his "Branny Blanket"  When he is sick he thinks he needs to use his quilt Granny made him.
This was what he looked like when we were ready to take Joey to school.  I hated to wake him up, but we had to.

For the last week Luke has been under the weather.  He has had fevers, runny nose and diarrhea.  He has progressively gotten worse.  Yesterday, I took him to the doctor to find out that he has a bug and they aren't sure when he will feel better.  I kind of suspected this, but I felt I had to do something since he wasn't doing any better.

Mardi Gras is awesome!!!

Joey and I trying to get some beads.

Joey enjoying the parade (Yeah, he is dressed as Indiana Jones)
Luke is an expert at this.
Luke and Kev
This is still one of my favorite pictures (this was Luke's first Mardi Gras) He was like 8 weeks old.  A lot of people thought we were awful parents because we had him there, but he wasn't cold at all.

The boys at the end of the parade, Joey was cold.
We left the parade and it wasn't anytime at all Joey had to pee.  Of course, we were in traffic.  We had to pull over at Joey's school on the way to dinner so he could pee.  Kev captured the moment.  He will probably go to school and tell everyone that he peed behind his school.  We figured, no one would care at St. Paul's.
Caught in the act.
