Weekend

In addition to going to the game we spent the night in Daphne and then went to the USS Alabama and then to the Explorium to see the Dinosaurs.
The men in front of the USS Alabama.
This is the sub that is there. It was really cool.
Luke was all about shooting the bad guys.
The men with a T-rex
The boys thought this was super funny. Especially Joey, he made the fart noise a lot.
The two science freaks.
Luke loved this triceratops.

Senior Bowl

We headed to the Senior Bowl on Saturday. It was a pretty neat thing to experience. Of course, it was cold and windy. We only stayed till half time, but it was worth it. We will have to go back another time.
They were announcing the teams.
#78 is our friend Mike Johnson
Trying to keep warm.
Luke watched very little of the game, he socialized, played and ate.

New Glasses

My mission today was finding the best deal on glasses for Joey. I have been a bunch of places. To make my mission a little harder, yesterday he told me that he really wanted green glasses since green is his favorite color. Well I finally found the best deal at EyeMasters. 2 pair for $99 and yeah they had green. The good part is that he said he can see better right away.
Joey sporting his John Lennon look.
These are green, but you might not be able to tell.
He says that these are a little tight on his nose, so we will have to get them adjusted.
These are him.

Glasses

Joey had his opthamology appointment this morning. Luke went to the babysitter and I took Joey to see the eye doctor. I am just so thankful that Dr. Grier-Hall's office picked this problem up. Apparently, Joey is having some mild problems with his left eye. So he does what most people would do, he uses his right eye more. The problem with this is that it could affect his vision if it isn't treated. Dr. Connors went back and forth as to what she wanted to do. She finally decided that we would first try glasses and if after 3 months he should be using the left eye more, if he doesn't then we will have to patch the right eye.
So Thursday afternoon, when I will have time to help him and Luke won't be around we will head to Walmart to get him some glasses. I figure Walmart is the best bet since it is close to our house.
Luke goes to see Dr. Redmond next week. So they will know me by name in the office next week.

Baking a Birthday Cake

Tomorrow is Kev's birthday. He will be 36 years old no matter what he says. Luke wanted to help me bake his Birthday Cake, so we have been working on that this morning. Luke loves to cook, but Joey hates it.

Growing like a weed

Took Joey to the doctor for his check up. He is growing like a week. Last year he weighed 33 pounds and was 42 1/2 inches tall. This year he weighs 36 1/2 pounds and is 44 inches tall. Of course, they reminded me he is on the small size. Come on people he gained 3 1/2 pounds and 1 1/2 inches. That is a huge growth spurt for Joey. He is in the 5th percentile for weight and 25th for height.
The big shocker was that he didn't do so hot on his eye exam. They got 50/20 in the left eye and 25/20 in the right eye. Since he was greater than 40, they recommended he be evaluated further. I came home and called Luke's eye doctor. Dr. Redmond is busy and I wouldn't be able to get him in with him until the end of March, but he has a new partner. So Joey will go see Dr. Connors on January 25th. I figure it is better to take him to a pediatric opthamologist than anyone else.
Everything else checked out fine.

This is so I remember

Luke when Momma asks you to pick up Legos, do not tell her no. When Momma tells you if she has to pick up your Legos for you, then you will lose them, she means it. So Luke don't tell momma, "I can't! I don't know how! I will play with Diego, you clean up my mess!"

Yeah, Luke, I understand that Diego is more fun than cleaning up Legos. I also understand that Santa Claus made them for you and they are yours, but I also understand you live in my house and must follow my rules. Sorry Luke, you will not see Legos for 1 week. Maybe next time, you will pick up your Legos.
