Luke and I spent the morning at home. Our first project this morning was to give the dogs a bath. We played and had a good time.

Build and Grow

Sometimes as parents no matter how hard we try we disappoint our children. I learned that lesson today. I took Joey to Build and Grow to build a pirate ship. Now I didn't know that the pirate ships were going to be on back order and not everyone would get a pirate ship to build. I didn't know that Joey really had his heart set on building a pirate ship. I was not prepared for Joey to cry very hard for over 30 minutes.

I told him I was going to take him home and packed everything up in my purse and started to leave. Then we went back and he got serious and did a marvelous job.

September 12

September 12 will always be a sad day for us, but we try to make it the best day we can. Six years ago today, Thomas Robert was lost. He instead of becoming the sweet baby that we had hoped and prayed for became the angel that looks over us. I have told some of you that when I see a Rainbow that I think of Thomas, we like to call him our Rainbow Maker. Well this morning when I was getting off work and driving home, I saw a bright big beautiful rainbow and I knew that he was thinking of me today also. He is getting much better at making Rainbows.

At 10:15 this morning I had another appointment with Dr. DeJong. I went back early because I wasn't getting relief. Kev wanted to go also, because he didn't want to be by himself today. Dr. DeJong said that we would try another cortisone injection, if in 7-10 days I still don't get relief I am to switch from Celebrex to Mobic. I go back at the beginning of October. He says that if I am still not getting relief then it is surgery. Kev didn't expect this, but after listening to him talk, he said that he trusts my doctor and knows why I do also.

After the appointment we went home and I slept. Then about 3:30 I got up and we went out to the beach. I thought it might be neat for the boys to see the big waves and I do mean big waves from the Hurricane.

Walking along the beach with Daddy

The Family almost blowing away in the wind

It is fun to play out here
We decided to grab some dinner at Hooter's. Joey danced and danced having the best time. Luke flirted a little.
Luke found these girls and they wanted to get their picture with him. Joey was allowed also.
The boys and some Hooter Chics.Real Mean eat hotdogs. Then we headed home for some cake. Joey says that you can't celebrate a birthday without a cake, so we got cake. Then Joey wouldn't eat the cake, but Luke sure would.
This is a great day, Hotdogs and Cake!!!

What more could a guy want???

My Shining Star

Joey's class is known as The Shining Stars.  Last week he made this t-shirt at school with stars all over it.  He decided to wear it today to school.  It has yellow stars all over it.
I just can't believe how much he is learning.  Yesterday we were in the car and he counted to 6 in Spanish and then he ask "Mom, what's next?"  I was no help.  Then after we dropped off Luke he starting saying The Pledge of Allegiance of America.  He is constantly telling us knew facts.  The other day he said "I got in a little trouble, I am not suppose to run in the hall."  His job yesterday was the calendar helper.  Today he is in charge of the lights.  He can't wait till he is in charge of the flag.

This week as been a completely different week with Luke.  Last week I thought I might never make it alone with him.  This week we have laughed and had tons of fun.  He has been hugging on me.  He is a very sweet little boy.

Things are looking up

Well it looks as if Thomas was looking out for his old Mom and Dad and blew that bad hurricane a little more south and west. This makes us very happy. I figure some of you will read this and thing we are nuts and that is OK.

I called Dr. DeJong's office and told them after this injection I still am in a lot of pain. I will go to see him on Friday. This is good I hope.

I went to JC Penney today and bought new bedding and curtains. We are going to be re-doing our room a bit. We will paint the walls and fix it up. I am sick to death of bright yellow walls and a comforter with fish and bright colors. It will be a lot different.

Sesame Street Lives again

We took the boys to see Sesame Street Live. I took Joey when he was about Luke's age and Joey loved it. Luke was just about the same. Kev hasn't been since he was a little boy. He seemed to have a great time also. The worst part was we had to drive to University of South Alabama in Mobile, so about an hour away. We didn't tell the boys they just knew they were going to get a surprise. When we turned on to I-10, Joey said "I guess a lot of people are getting a surprise today." Every few minutes, he ask if we were to the surprise yet or not. When we got there both boys were excited to see Elmo. We actually saw "When Elmo Grows Up!" So Elmo and Bird were in it a lot. Luke doesn't like Zoe or any of the girls. He likes the Count, Cookie Monster, Tele Monster, Elmo, Big Bird, and the Grouch.

During the show

Luke pointed and showed us things a lot.

After the show we were going to go to Bass Pro Shop, but it just opened so everyone else was there. We just headed to McAlister's for dinner. It was pretty good. Joey ate good. Luke ate pretty good. It was an wonderful day with the boys. Luke is in bed now and Joey is in the bath. Tomorrow things will return to normal.
