Tae Kwon Do
So Joey went to his first Tae Kwon Do class tonight. He is just trying it out, to see if he likes it. He seemed to love it. You have to be 5 to take the class. He was the youngest and smallest. The instructor told me since he is young that if he makes it 15 minutes that she will be pleased. She also said if he came home and could show us 1 thing that they did in class that he is getting it. He could show us 2 things. He talked about it now stop. We will go back on Wednesday. I think we will be signing him up.

New shoulder and a new week
Since my shoulder surgery, I have felt great. I have been able to sleep and this makes all the difference in the world to me. Not only do I sleep at night, but I also have no pain.
My mom left on Saturday morning. So tomorrow will begin a new week and new activities. Tomorrow will be the first day that Joey will be in Taekwondo. Luke and I will get some much needed alone time.

An afternoon out with Kev
Since mom is still here, I got to go with Kev to the Bill Vincent's retirement party. Bill Vincent has taken Kev under his arm and helped teach him how to help kids the best he can. He met him his first year teaching at Woodham. Since that time, they have become friends and Bill described Kev as the son he never had. Kev says that Bill has been his best friend. It was nice to get out of the house and get to spend an afternoon with Kev. The party was at McGuire's. Joey told us that we didn't have to come home till dark. So after the party we went to the mall and Kev bought me a beautiful dress at Cache, it is for our trip to Vegas. Granny says I am going to the prom.

Update on life
The shoulder is doing great. I saw Dr. DeJong today and I got to remove part of the sling. I am able to go back to work, but I will need computer work or something I can wear a sling and do for at least 3 weeks. I am not going to PT yet, he wants me to slowly work the stiffness out and if I am having trouble with that then he will send me to PT early. He said I will go to PT for strengthening. My mom will stay at least one more week. We will see how things are going next week. Dr. DeJong says the incision is looking great, but I had a reaction to the steri strips so it is red and has some bumps.
Joey went for his 5 year old check-up and he weighs 33 pounds and is 42 1/2 inches. He had an ear infection, we had no clue. They thought it was allergy related and gave him some allergy medicine. He had taken that medicine when he was little and he would wake up and had bad dreams. Well I thought maybe it was a different medicine or that he would do better. Last night, he woke up screaming. He didn't know anything or where he was. He was really scared. This morning he just had trouble waking up. We won't give that to him again and I have a call out to Dr. Grier to see if we can change that. His antibiotic is fine.
Luke is talking up a storm. Something new everyday. He has been play with a baby a lot. He gives his baby a snack and puts them down and tells them "Night Night baby!" He just seems to enjoy playing and pretending with them. He talks about them being "Hurt!" My mom says he is going to be a nurse.

can't believe it
i have next to no pain now. my arm gets tired of being in the sling. if i move the shoulder wrong i know it, but i have much less pain now than i have in a year. last night i went to bed at 9 and slept till 9:30 this morning. i took a nap today. i can get comfortable in bed and sleep. i haven't taken much pain medicine at all. i just seem tired now, i think i am making up for a years worth of sleepless nights.
the boys are getting restless, they are missing having just me and kev around. joey is ready to send my mom home and she understands. of course, i can't drive yet and i might just fall asleep while watching the boys. joey says it will be nice when i don't complain about my shoulder anymore.
yesterday i took the best shower of my lifetime. it felt really good to get in the water and almost took another one last night, but couldn't keep my eyes open for it.
