Lukey

This morning Luke had an appointment to see the doctor. He was suppose to go see Dr. Grier a month ago for his 15 month check up, but the day before he got really sick so he saw her for a sick visit instead. Today he weighed 21 pounds 2 ounces (5th percentile), that is less than he weighed before. He was 33 3/4 inches tall which is in he 94th percentile. They will see him for his 18 month check-up and watch his weight. She said to bring him back if we thought he was losing weight. He has a very healthy appetite, but he also is very active. Everything else checked out perfect. He got one shot. He did not enjoy that one bit.

While I took Luke to the doctor, Joey and Granny went to the bookstore across the street. When we were finished with the doctor Joey and Granny were in the waiting room. Joey had been waiting patiently for Luke so he could get a sucker.

As soon as we were done with Dr. Grier, we took Granny to the airport. Joey did say Bye Bye to her. Since we dropped her off he has asked me several times if she is in Ohio yet. He also has told me many times that he didn't want her to go. Sure is different from September, when he told her he wanted her to go home. In September he wouldn't let her get him out of the car, he just wanted his mom to do everything. This time it just didn't matter.

Enjoying our visit

Granny is still here for her visit. Here are some pictures that she has taken. She has taken the boys to Bailey's Farmers Market, TT Wentworth, to the Navy to see the Blue Angels today, and they have played and played in the yard. Tomorrow I take Luke back to the doctor for his 15 month check up. After that we will take Granny back to the airport so she can return to her Ohio State Home. Joey says he will not tell her bye bye, because he will want her to stay.

TT Wentworth Museum

This afternoon we went to the TT Wentworth Museum. I have heard that it is wonderful for the boys, but haven't been before today. It was lots of fun. The third floor is an area that the boys could play and Joey pretending a lot. His favorite was the trading post. He pretended and pretended to work in that little store. Luke loved a paddle to a boat.

Luke thought he might take a nap.

He quickly changed his mind.
Granny and Joey were pretending to be Indians and they were cooking dinner on the open fire. They cooked corn, pumpkin, and potatoes. They even came up with Indian names for themselves.

Here is Luke with his favorite paddle for the canoe.

Here was Joey's favorite place.

Granny is having a blast with the boys. Today at the TT Wentworth Museum it was nice to have another adult there. It was nice that there weren't any other kids there. Granny mainly watched Joey and I mainly watched Luke.

A visit with Granny

So my mom is here. She got here on Wednesday afternoon. The boys and her have been doing a lot of playing. I worked on Thursday and Friday night. Saturday was an awful rainy day, so Joey's soccer was cancelled. Yesterday we went to the strawberry patch and got strawberries to freeze for the boys later on, then we went to the Orr House for lunch. Other than that we just hung out. Today we hope to go to the TT Wentworth Museum downtown this afternoon. Tomorrow morning if the weather permits we will go and try to watch the Blue Angels practice again.
Granny can't believe how much Luke looks like me and how much he acts like Uncle Aaron.

Blue Angels.

So this morning we got up early so that we could catch a Blue Angel's practice at the Navy Base. I was super excited about this. Of course, today is a foggy and misty sort of day. We still went. When we got there they informed us that we should look around the museum, because they had not decided whether or not they would fly today.

So the boys walked around and looked at planes. They played in the kids area. Luke enjoyed walking up and down the steps. We went outside and studied a F-18 up close.

Finally they gathered us all up and said that we needed to walk over to the area for the practice, that they were going to fly. We got there and were already. One of the FA-18's took off flew around and landed. They had to cancel the practice. They told us to return to the museum and the pilots would be there to sign autographs. By this time Joey is super excited.

Joey was very excited to have met a few of the pilots. Luke was able to meet the one also, but he didn't really care.

After Joey met a few pilots we headed upstairs to have some fun in some planes. Luke loved this he didn't want to leave his plane and cried when I took him out. I think Luke has found his calling in life. I think he might want to be a pilot. Joey says that he is going to be a Blue Angel pilot and a helicopter pilot now. After this we headed to the gift shop and then to the car. Luke fell asleep before we got off the base. This was a great day. I have never had so much fun at the Naval Aviation Museum before in my life.

BOYS!BOYS!BOYS!

My day has been filled with boys and parks. We picked up Rett (the babysitter's son) and he came to the house to play this morning. We got pizza for lunch. Kev wants to thank his parents for always having extra kids at his house, he says he never realized how much that really does disturb the flow of a home.

Here are Joey and Rett playing in the backyard.

Then this afternoon we met The Fina's at Perido Kid's Park. Usually, Joey and Paul are into everything together, but the Fina boys played together and Joey and Rett played together and Luke well he did his own thing. It was good to get out and go hang out at the park. Luke loved the curly slide, I don't know how many times he went down that. Now I have two filthy boys, who should both sleep well tonight.

MOMS Club to Petland

This morning Kev headed off to the golf course. The boys and I headed off to Petland with MOMS Club. They brought out 2 dogs, 2 bunnies, a bird, a lizard and a snake. Joey touched them all. Luke touched the lizard and then cried and when the snake came he grabbed my leg. Of all the people in the room, he would have been better off grabbing hold of any of the kids. I know I would have been no protection to him if the darn thing would have got lose. So we held each other tight while the brave Joey touched away. Of course, when we left Joey informed us all that his favor thing he touched was the snake. Luke seemed to like the bunnies the most.
We loaded in the car and when we got about half way home, Luke is asleep at this point, Joey realizes that he doesn't have his blanket. Because I am a good loving mother I turned the car around and we rescued the blanket from the animals at Petland.
By this time it is almost noon. The boys haven't had lunch. Luke is way way way past his naptime now. So we opted for some McDonalds chicken nuggets and french fries. Both boys came home and ate as if they never have had a meal in their lives. Now both are napping.
