Happy Birthday Luke David!!!!

Luke will be 2 in the morning.  It really doesn't seem possible.  I have learned in the last 2 years that if it won't bring a smile to his face, Luke doesn't want anything to do with it.  We love you and look forward to many more happy birthdays.
The birthday boy has requested pancakes for breakfast and hotdogs for dinner.

Breakfast with Santa

This morning after work, I headed to Joey's school to help make breakfast for the breakfast with Santa.  The boys made it there a little after 8:30.  We made them eat first because I knew we would never get them to eat if they talked to Santa.  They had tator tots, sausages, fruit, and yogurt.  Luke would take a bite and say "Santa! Done!" and try to get up.  After they ate they did an art project.  Luke was in a big hurry, he wasn't really enjoying the silly ornament making.  He was there for one thing and it was for seeing the old man.  Over the last few days, I have ask him many times if he was going to sit on Santa's lap and every time he'd say "No!"  Well when it was the boys' turn he went running up and climbed on Santa's lap.  He was completely amazed by Santa.  Santa said "Well come on up here Joey!"
Now a few weeks ago we went to the tree lighting ceremony at Sacred Heart.  They had told that Santa would be there.  So we went and I kid you not, Santa Claus was a woman.  Joey wasn't fooled at all.  She spoke and Joey got a disappointed look on his face.  Kev immediately pulled him aside and told him that sometimes Santa needs help this time a year.  Well Joey has figured it out and he knows that it was Mrs. Claus helping Santa Claus out that day.  I was worried after this day that Santa would be ruined for him at age 4.  Today at 4 year old school, Joey's faith in Santa was restored.  He has been talking about his visit with Santa all morning long.  He told me that he was wearing Santa's favorite color and it is red.
We will get pictures later in the week at 4 year old school.

Impressed

It is amazing what a year can do for singing practice.  Last year, Joey couldn't sit still, he ask me a million questions, he had to go to the bathroom, he talked to the kids around him, he wasn't serious at all.  Tonight he followed directions, paid attention, sang songs, was super serious, I was throughly amazed.  He also signed up to bring in a gift to the baby Jesus.
He also made me a Christmas tree pin at school, so I will be super festive this year.

Luke and I laughed and laughed today.  We truly enjoyed each others company.  He is not quite ready for for singing at church.

The Tree is Up!!!

This is an ornament that Lexi and Bruce sent us last year.  It has each of our names on it including Thomas.  This is one of our favorites.
This is an ornament that Joey made today at school.

Luke found this Santa hat, we kept asking him if he was Santa. He would laugh and say "No!"

The tree is up.  This makes Luke happy.  He probably thinks Santa will be there to eat breakfast with him in the morning.  We are going to breakfast with Santa on Saturday at Joey's school.  Luke is super excited.  Target did it for him this morning, this even when we were at Target to get some hooks to hang ornaments, Santa wasn't there.  Luke was so confused.

Target

We ran to Target this morning.  Mainly because I realized this morning that I had no bread for a sandwich for Joey's lunch.  So he got a lunchable.  Well when we walked through the door, there was Santa.  Luke was so impressed.  We had to stop.  He kept batting his eyes and saying "Hi Santa!"  They were doing free polaroids with Santa.  So Luke had to have his picture taken.  Joey said he didn't want to.  Before we left Joey changed his mind.  So the whole time, Luke is waving and saying "Bye Bye Santa!!!"  Then when we got to the car he cried and cried.  He screamed "I want My Santa!!!"

We have been making Christmas ornaments today.  We made these homemade ornaments and then painted and decorated them.  Luke really enjoyed painting them this year.  He painted one so much that when we picked it up it fell apart.  We will make more later on.  It seems everyone wants an ornament from the boys.

The final product

Joey's favorite that he painted

The only one that Luke painted that was dry enough to put glitter on, he likes a lot of paint.
